SPIDERMAN So Kicks BATMAN'S BUTT!!?

But despite the fact that this post deserves little attention, I'll respond just for fun.

In terms of popularity the top spot has always been held by one of these three. Superman held it for many years. Then DC rewrote Batman and took him out of the ''campy'' stage and brought back the ''Dark'' in Dark Knight. It also helped that he went back to being mostly solo and that they also got rid of Robin's ghurly panties.

Then along came a Spider.

For years, Superman and Batman were, together, larger than ALL the rest of the DCU and MU combined. When Spiderman came along, he was written with real life problems but without being too serious.

Many of us, perhaps all young men, could relate to Peter's everyday life. He was picked on in school but overcame those problems. He made a few decisions that haunt him to this day. He had girlfriend issues, sometimes the mother of all girlfriend issues, "Who do I pick?" While Superman and Batman stood figuratively and literally above everyone else, Spiderman appealed to the ''uncertain boy'' in all of us.

In a fight, Superman SHOULD beat either of them easily. Because Spiderman is so popular a story could always be written where he has a chance. He will never defeat Superman but he might stop Superman from soundly defeating him.

Batman knows Superman AND Clark Kent better than anyone else. If KNOWLEDGE is POWER, than Batman has a shot at a win or to at least stop Superman from beating him. Batman knows Superman's OTHER weakness, besides kryptonite and magic (which is not a guarenteed win over Superman). There are simply somethings Superman just wont do, some lines he just wont cross.

Who could forget Batman's brilliant decision, to place a life in danger if Superman touched him? How cool was it that the life Batman placed in danger was his own? He banked on the fact that Superman will do anything within his power to NOT take a life.

As for Batman vs Spiderman. Spiderman SHOULD win. However, much as I hate to hide behind ''The Writers'' It does depend on how the story is written. Spiderman often struggles with people she should easily wipe out within a short time. He's probably the most contradicted character of all.

Many times I've seen Spiderman sturggle with guys like Captain American or Daredevil, both of whom he should beat easily. Spiderman can lift a car over his head, survive a fall from a tall building and dodge a bullet at close range. Cap and Daredevil are formidable but not in Spiderman's league. Sometimes I see the opposite, where Spiderman takes down a character who could lift one of the buildings Spiderman likes to climb. Go figure

Batman can not fight Spiderman at close range. He's one of the world's masters of martial arts but Spiderman can take a lot of punishment. Being human, he is still vulnerable to Batman's many martial arts secrets. However, it would, and should, be very hard for Batman to come so close without taking some damage himself.

Spiderman SHOULD win this one and probably would. However, Batman could also find a way to nullify Spiderman's powers. He would certainly be able to buy enough time to study Spiderman before Spiderman could figure out his limitations. Spiderman would be occupied with wondering what Batman COULD do while Batman will have already figured out Spiderman's limits and weaknesses.

If Batman could buy enough time to do this, he wins. If Spiderman gets the drop on his first, its a deep hole for Batman to climb out of and Spiderman wins.

And this is without hiding behind ''the Writers''

Spiderman is humorous and appeals to the nerd in me. Batman is a vigilante, and that appeals to the darkish edge in me. Superman is indestructible and each and each and every of the nice and cozy chicks are after him. If I had a decision i should be Superman.

Heck yes! Batman and his queer little pal need to get the crapola outta town. Spiderman is amazing. It says so in the comics! :]

Bats has matrial arts knowledged, plus he already deals with people who are stronger than him. Plus, Bats has explosive batarangs.
