Good idea for my son's 2nd birthday?

My son turns two on May 6th and I need some idea's of what I should do for his party. I am not sure how many people there will be. Not to many but a good amount. I would have it at my place but my apartment is not big enough. His first b-day I rented a big place for it but I don't live there anymore so I can't. It was nice last year at that time so I was thinking maybe the park so kids could play and all. But you take the chance of rain or not being nice that day. I decided not to do something like ceaserland/chuck-e-cheese cause it is so crowded normally. But any idea's would be great. Thanks

My son is turning 2 in april and I'm more excited about throwing him a party now than last year because now he seems to be 'into' stuff. He absolutely loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so that'll be my theme for the day. Think of a fun TV show, toy or book your son loves and use that as a theme. This year I'm going to my local park and rec and renting a space there. They have great rooms to rent where the walls are padded and they provide child safe activities like balls, noodles and whatever else a two-year-old enjoys. Try to find something safer because unlike last year, most kids will be mobile and running around. I agree Chuck-e-Cheese is just too much, and more age appropriate for an eigh tyear old. get a cake with sugarfree frosting and if you dare, let the youngest kids go to town with a big slice on a plastic tarp. We did that last year and it was sooo cute! Some balloons and tables set up for the older crowd and you should be fine. I'm inviting about 30-35 people, mostly family and there'll be about 6-7 kids under the age of 5 there.

Remember that your kid will have a good time no matter what and won't even remember what happened the very next day! :)

Ps. A fun activity would be a very basic toy-hunt, like an easter egg hunt but hide some small boxes with toys around the area, a two year old can usually grasp the idea of finding the item over and over. If there's going to be some older kids, bring your bag of makeup and do some old fashioned face painting, even on the adults!

Do you have a freind that owns a farm? maybe you could borrow his barn, and have a few of the smaller animals around, for the kids. If not I'd probably think about McDonalds, for the play-land there(food sucks). Last time I went to a b-day part there, I went to Wendy's and got my food,(that didn't go over to well, but at least it was eatable)!

Source(s): good luck and have a great time!

We had a party at a McDonalds Playcenter, it wasn't near as crowded as Chuck-e-cheese's but still had the indoor playcenter for them to run, jump, slide and play. We had another one at Burger King Playcenter for the same reasons but they gave us a party discount and reserved tables ahead of time for us where McDonalds wouldn't. Hope this helps.

What about going to McDonalds or Burger King...where they have the little playground and also you can get a b-day cake there. They let you have parties there, but I think you have to supply everything. Maybe they will give him a free shake or something.

is there a recreation/community center anywhere near?

You could always invite his daycare class and their parents and then have cute little games (velcro oin the tail on the donkey, balloon races, etc) and give out cute prizes (not too small though, or they could be a choking hazard.)

I apologize for saying cute too much. haha
