It will scan your computer and give you compatible types you can buy from the website or look for the same kind at a lower price elsewhere (http://tigerdirect.com/ usually has the best deals, but crucial has it in stock) Buy it and wait. When it gets there, take the case off, WEAR AN ANTI-STATIC STRAP OR TOUCH A GROUNDED METAL SURFACE BEFOREHAND! make sure the RAM isn't cold, flip the 2 locks on the slot away from it and push it in, you have to use some force but be careful with it, i broke one of the clips on my brothers computer. it will lock itself in place, put the case back on and you're done =)

Just buy SDRAM, it's on the shelves with that exact name... Only drawback: it's expensive, because it's old. They still make them, but in low quantities, so they ask more money for these than the newer types...

look in a thrift store or computer parts house. you can find some pc100 cheap. what processor was it? it might run windows 2000. ive done it with an old amd k6 with only 64 mb or memory before...
