    This refers to extra or skipped beats that arise in the chamber superior to the ventricle, the atrium. These are also called premature atrial contractions. They are common, benign and generally require no treatment. I think a more correct term might be supra ventricular ectopy.

    yes, it is supra ventricular ectopy....meaning an abnormal beat or rhythm that originates from a part of the heart above, supra, the ventricles....meaning the source of this beat is not the ventricles...something supra ventricular is treated differently than someting that may originate from the ventricles...
