What's wrong with having an arab name?

Barack Obama is just another in a long list of great americans with arabic names.

General Omar Bradley was the hero of D-day & other battles

General George Joulwan was the former NATO supreme commander

Thomas Jefferson's first name is from the aramaic Tuma

Former cabinet secretary Donna Shalala is of arabic descent

Rep Darrell Issa (R-CA) is of arabic descent

Tony Shalhoub, who plays Monk on USA is of arabic descent

Are these people terrorists?

If the answer is no, then stop with the bigoted nonsense.

It's fear and ignorance, and this has to be confronted otherwise, like a virus, it spreads and infects everyone.

Good for you that you've taken the time to think this out.

Considering the fact that Western civilization,as we know it,,owes it enlightened principles values to Muslims, who were the first to practice the ideals of tolerance, and translated the texts of Greek Philosophers like Aristotle, Plato and Archimedes, when our European ancestors were holding Inquisitions and the Auto de Fe, burning and torturing people who merely looked, talked and acted "different".

What they want is another Dark Ages, where ignorance and intolerance was normal behavior. We can't let them do it.

Why is a great American because he is a politician, that doesn't make him great. I never heard of him before now but I heard of how well a mayor of New York was after 9/11 but that doesn't seem to make any difference. So, define great because it is so stupid to say that about someone that is only a politician. There are many good Muslims but 9/11 happened and 3000 Americans died and now I fear why because I am suppose to because people died. Political correctness may be the end of us because we think we are enlightened but that is opposite of survival reasoning. Survival is the only thing that matters and you guys don't get it. We don't live in the Middle Ages the Arabs do, so that was just the opposite of the truth or a lie. I tell you what, it isn't African Americans that love watermelon, it is people in the south and I am from the south and love, absolutely love watermelon. He can run later on but for now he needs to wait.

Tony Shalhoub's family came from Lebanon. His father immigrated with other CATHOLICS. Tony was raised a Catholic in Green Bay, Wisconsin. His family ran a grocery store and has a solid history. The United States has always had close ties to Lebanon.

Don't try to compare Obama to Shalhoub or anyone else on your list.

Nothing is wrong with it. The only problem with names is the ignorant people with the problems.

As far as Obama's patriotism, the man wears a flag on his lapel.

I support his right to run for office, just as much as anyone who is an American-born citizen. Diversity is a strength of America and one of the things that makes us great.

I disagree with his politics entirely, and will vote against him if nominated.

You've fallen into the racial trap. It is not the ARAB name, it is the MUSLIM religion. There are christian arabs and Indonesian muslims.

All the terrorists have been muslims but not all the terrorists have been arabs. Don't be simple and fall for the trap. Like the school at Half Moon Bay, CA wanted all of their children to understand ARABS so they forced them to take MUSLIM names and dress like sheiks.

This racism is tatamount to saying that all black people eat fried chicken and watermelon. You don't want to be a racist do you?

Nothing is wrong with having an arabic name and the bigots who raise this have the same mindset of those decades ago who voiced the same prejudices against people with jewish or polish or other 'different' names. They are best ignored with the contempt they deserve.

the white stuff in chicken poop is ...........(file in the blank)

Nobody cares what his name is. It's what he is and isn´t. He is a naive, socialist, politico, he isn't what his image managers have sold you on. He is not going to be able to do half of what he promises, thank the gods we have a congress, even if controlled by the Dems, not all of them are fools. He has no concept of real world politics. He lies, stretches the truth to limits unheard of even for people in his line of work. The media bias toward him is evidenced by the fact that Hillary now looks 10 years older now that she is not their fave.I'm not a fan of hers either. (she hasn't changed but they now select the most unflattering photos of her to put up behind the talking heads) Get off of here, use that screen in front of you to look up some unbiased info on all of the candidates. None are really great, but in a republic you get the government you deserve. (the congression record, the league of women voters etc all have good beakdowns of there actions in office)

The man will not pledge allegiance to the flag. He is not an American.
