i have 2 15in kicker cvrs and 1 kicker zx1000 watt amp.. i want to get another zx1000 to run each sub wit 1 amp so they each get their peak wattage... however is it worth the extra money for the 2nd amp compared to 1 amp runnin both subs?? will runnin each sub wit its own amp be alot louder than 1 amp wit both subs?

what ohm are the subs
if the subs are 2ohm models you have the perfect setup, but
if the subs are 4ohms you will need another zx1000 because the ohms are working against you, two 4ohm subs can not be wire down to 2 ohms, just 4ohms or 1ohm
hope i helped, good luck

I wouldn't get the second am unless you thought about getting more subs. with what you have running at 2 ohms, now if you run 2 2ohm subs then get the other amp and run them both at 2 ohms and get the full 1000 watts out of each sub. by the way you can wire 2 4ohm subs to get 2 ohms check out www.the12volt.com that will show you it can be done.
for inktownlegend you can wire 2 4 ohm speakers and get 2 ohm to your amp. I dont know if you miss read what he was saying but you info is not correct on the ohms

you dont want to power them to there "peak" you just want the RMS of the sub and amp to match so if your subs are wired to the amp at 2 ohm you dont need another amp because the amp pushes 1000 watts RMS at 2 ohm and the subs are 500 watts RMS each

ampage is important, but for loudness you have to measure the SPL (sound pressure level) in Db. This number for clear crisp sound should have a THD (total harmonic distortion) of <.01 less is even better. Amps is just an amount of current flowing to the speakers, the OHMage of the speakers will decrease (or increase) depending on if the speakers are in parallel or series.
Just try to get your SPL up and THD down.
