Whats the best way to get free cardboard boxes?
say it's time to move out, and you don't want to spend $20 or something on cardboard boxes. Where is it where you can always pick up lots of cardboard boxes for free

depends on where you live but usually there is a discount grocery store in the area & they let you take boxes or even pile them up by door for free.. also there are walmarts everywhere and i have gotten boxes from them before, just ask at counter or even people stocking shelves as they are glad to not have to tear down boxes and load into compactor...
another source is to put add on craigslist but make sure you say free, there are a lot of scum bags who want big money for boxes they are going to toss
lastly look for people moving in and offer to help in exchange for their boxes

FYI...If you get used cardboard boxes, especially those that have contained food or have been in dumpsters that contain food ,you run a great risk of infesting your new place with cockroaches. Roaches love to lay eggs in the hollow ribbing of cardboard and the mature ones hide there as well. Better to spend the dollars and buy clean boxes.

If you purchase some items in Provision Stores, they will give cardboard boxes with free of cost.

Try a local grocery store. My husband works at one and they always save their boxes to give to the public. Usually the produce department holds them. Just ask when they get freight and if they would hold some for you.

Last time we moved we dipped into the fast food restaurant's cardboard recycling bins for fry boxes. They are almost always clean, way sturdy and plentiful!

All of the above are good suggestions. If you need unusual size boxes, try calling a couple different furniture stores. They get unusual shapes and sizes.

I once raided a recycle bin, one of those giant ones, for some boxes. I got the size I wanted too, but there is a chance of spiders and really nasty smelling boxes I warn you.

Any grocery store will be happy to load you up with their old boxes. Call them up and they can leave them out for you.

go dumpster diving
behind grocery stores is a great place to look
also you could take them from recycling bins (and yeah this may seem bad, but really you ARE recycling them too)
