When did youtube become the major authority or support to spiritual Q/A?
It seems that most Q/A will have at least one person use youtube as a source, reference or to validate their "argument". BTW I also take issue with 17 feet of cut and paste Bible verses to support a statement. One or two at best is sufficient.

Video, the visual medium, is the simplest and most appealing format for presenting "views" to people of a limited attention span, or level of literacy.
When it became "the trend", I don't know, like so many things, it has crept up on us. (Cancer, warts, YouTube....)
You're not serious about being upset by the 17 feet of Biblical quotations, are you? I mean, you've got to "Get" the "Whole Message".....(ROFLMAO).
One or two passages is fine, past that, it's classed as Spam, by the Yamster, so feel free to report it if you want.

It just shows that their own thoughts on the matter are weak (so they depend on others thoughts) or in the case of some youtube links .... they are just trying to throw some levity into the mix.
Admittedly, most youtube videos are homemade, but there are some actual documentaries on there where you may actually learn something.
Regarding the the excessive cut and paste responses, I pretty much always thumb them down, since doing so automatically minimizes their response. I didn't come here to read a novel or scroll down for 5 minutes to read the next answer.
And, obviously, if the answer isn't useful to you, then you don't have to pay attention to it. Although it doesn't hurt to see others viewpoints once in a while, so you are able to gauge the mindset of the world around you. Even if their viewpoints are crazy. :)

youtube = spirituality??? I left another R&S forum because entire threads were being conducted in youtube links.
Access to information is not making people smarter. Even my own use of wikipedia is showing me this. An answer cut and pasted is not the same as reading the article. Youtube is just taking it a step further. No reading, no thinking. Just "Dude! This is sooo cooool"!

LOL, thank you... some people just cannot tell the difference between subject opinion and anticdote, and imperical evidence or objective proof.
They seem to think anything that agrees with them somehow constitutes proof and are baffled when you question their "evidence".
It is amusing.

Definitely agree, statically about half the things on line are wrong, so who really knows.

i don't think they consider youtube itself as a referance but there might be videos of confrences, programs, documentries, etc. that supports their points of view. think of videos people use from there as audio articles.
