uncomfortable while on bedrest?

I'm on bedrest, and it is getting really hard to stay off my feet. I have piled pillows all around, but my hips and legs get sore. I was told to lay on my left side by my doctor, but that hip is hurting. I don't want to get up too much because I don't want to have my baby too early, but does anyone have any suggestions for getting more comfortable while on bedrest? If I try to stretch too much, I start getting contractions.

if your hips are getting sore you might not be aligned properly. try laying on your side with a pillow between your legs or under your hip. this wil give you more support. i hope this helps!

I'm on bed rest to but I'm guessing for something totally diffrent.I'm allowed to at least do regular things like dishes and laundry. As far as your side hurting you should be able to lay some on your right side.I always sleep on my right side and then I go to my left and I tend to change positions alot.I'm on bed rest for toxemia and all I can say to you really is good luck.Oh yeah the pillow under the hip helps loads!!I do do that when I'm really uncomfortable. It helps so much!!!!

oh I remember bedrest...not fun!!! I say pillows pillows pillows...I also found that keeping busy really helped... I learned how to cross stitch while I was on bed rest and it really helped keep my mind off of how uncomfortable I was (I was also due right around christmas...so everyone got handmade things :-))...maybe you could find something like that to do...try knitting, it's not too hard to do and you could start something really nice for your baby while youre stuck in bed...or like I did you could cross stitch there are nice patterns for baby blankets and other things...just send someone out to look for easy patterns for you...hope you dont have too much longer...good luck!!!

I agree...using a pillow between you knees really works wonders. I haven't tried under the hip, but it sounds like it would be pretty comfortable.
