What are your top three favorite bands or performers starting with the letter "M"?

For example I would pick:

Metallica - My clear first pick for 'M'. I don't know why so many people are pissed off at them, though I suppose that its not such an uncommon phenomena. When artists evolve the audience has to as well and sometimes the artist evolves and leaves the audience behind. Some artists keep improving and some stagnate. Whatever your opinion of what happened here, these guys are the real deal. They took Heavy Metal and pushed it into the face of the mainstream BEFORE they softened their sound. 'Master of Puppets' (along with Lighting and Justice) remains an extra fine album no matter what was said and done after it. (RIP Cliff)

...now that I've got that off my chest...

Moody Blues - Sounds like eating cotton candy even when you have run out of LSD.

Steve Miller - anybody remember this joker and midnight smoker?

Motorhead - Lemmy rules!

Ministry

Sarah McLachlin

(running out of space, I think thats enough, you get the idea...)

Update:

There's so many good bands and musicians that start with 'M', I'm sure I've forgotten someone important but I'm equally sure that someone out there will remind me.

Have fun...

Update 2:

Hey I like Mastodon too, Blood Mountain is a great album (love Sleeping Giant)

Update 3:

Molly Hatchet, now there's a name that takes me back to a drunken night in 1979 at the Pacific Coliseum... (I'll spare you the details)

Update 4:

OK Darth, don't get angry now, I'll check out Montrose sometime soon. (actually thanks for the suggestion)

Update 5:

Hmm, didn't think that Mike Oldfield would surface here. What do you say about a guy who peaked musically at age 17? Tubular Bells was fantastic (and rather remarkable that he played all the instruments) but he couldn't ever seem to top that. A great talent...

Update 6:

Don't know Meshugah, guess I'll have to check them out sometime too.
