Non-theists, if you could ask Christians to stop doing one thing in an agument, what would it be?

Give up attacking scientic theory? Stop using Pascal's Wager? Threats of Hell?

For me, it's stop quoting scripture, since none of us (Non-theists) believe God wrote it anyway.

Update:

Argument, sorry.

Does this mean I lose my 'spell check nazi' standing?

Update 2:

sister of the blue eyes: Deal!

I'm fine with all their arguments as long as they don't yell (i hate yelling)

it wouldn't exactly be fair (or fun) to pick and choose what arguments your opponent are allowed to use

As a Christian, i would hope that we stop quoting scripture too. For the same reason >.< Seriously, why quote stuff to a person who isn't going to believe it anyway? Quoting from the Bible is a sign that you're at the end of the rope of ideas. There are many different ways to go about talking to people about God. Quoting scripture is the weakest of the weak.

O wait, even more than that (this isn't just for Christians though), I hope that EVERYONE would stop pushing science into religion and vice versa. They don't belong together at all. Religion is based on faith and science is based on fact, you can't compare the two since they both don't share the same ground in any arguement.

Well, most christians don't believe the bible was written by god anyway.....just to correct you. They believe that it was written by man but inspired by God.

To answer your question, if I could stop them from doing one thing, it would be to stop interfering in politics, government, government elections, and to not choose the government leaders and politicians solely on what religion they are. Give people of other faiths (or lack thereof) a chance to run for office.

To stop saying "this world's amazing and complex, so God's real!" and all its variants. This is the main argument I've heard for explaining the existence of a God noone sees or hears.

I personally despise it when Christians use threats of hell because i find the prospect of hell a completely ridiculous thing. I believe Hell is like God's death penelty, it makes him as bad as the sinner for causing such pain and harm to so many people.

Let the thumbs down pour in!

And yet atheists refuse to see that so many of their arguments are completely worn out. Christians have heard them all before, so I guess that makes Christians and atheists even.

I agree with quoting scripture. I never read it and it just takes up a lot of space. I doubt anyone actually takes the time to read it.

Stop saying "God works in mysterious ways" when an atheist points out an inconsistency in your faith or you can't answer his question.

I'd like them to stop avoiding Occam's razor. In other words, if you're trying to explain something that isn't already proven by facts, then don't rely on assumptions.
