I think most people will ignore Bush's endorsement. Now that the Republicans have chosen a nominee it would be inappropriate for a republican president not to endorse that candidate whether he agrees with him or not. The endorsement Bush gave was clumsy and probably will require a little damage control. But I support John McCain regardless of the careless words of George Bush.

I would say having the endorsement of Bush is a huge disadvantage for McCain. It will matter little since McCain will be soundly defeated in November.

It's pretty much standard policy to close ranks. If Bush did NOT endorse McCain, there would be questions asking why not. What would Bush's other choices be? It's more just playing nice within the party than anything else.
I'm already planning on voting for McCain anyway, so it doesn't make any difference.

i'm probable the only one responding to this question who has easily had a verbal replace with President Bush earlier. i became vote casting for Obama earlier his endorsement of McCain; i would be vote casting for Obama after it besides.

No.... Bush doesn't read the newspaper (by his own admission) so he won't have an informed decision. I tend to tune out Bush --he's really not that bright, poor guy.
I could vote for McCain... not sure yet.. but I might vote for him and Bush's endorsement won't have ANYTHING to do with my choice.

Bush might have well hung a sign that said "Bury Me" on McCain's back. 70% of America hates Bush and that means McCain is dead meat.
