What is the meaning of?

Mehendi walay haath means hands well decorated with mehendi.

In India and Pakistan, a shrub is called mehendi. Its leaves are ground on stone and a fine paste is prepared. The paste is then filled in some plastic or stiff paper cone and different , attractive , ornamental designs are drawn by some expert lady. on hands upto elbow of women to be decorated. It is then allowed to dry for a few hours. When it is washed, tan coloured drawings appear where ornamentation by mehendi was made. These will not fade out for a fortnight or so. Mehendi adds to the beauty of women immensely.

Prior to a girl's marriage, the application of mehendi on her hands calls for a very special ceremony. It is celebrated by music, songs and dances by women relatives.
