I completely understand what you are dealing with as I was dealing with the same problem. I used to smell bad even though I wasn't actually sweating. I went to 3 different dermatologists who all gave me Drysol which only irritated my skin and didn't solve the odor problem. I even tried Botox, which did stop any sweating but it did not stop the odor. I finally found a dermatologist who right when I started to explain that I have odor no matter what I do and no matter if it is freezing outside and I am not sweating at all, stopped me in mid talk and said "you have something called Bromhydrosis". I was skeptical at first at such a quit conclusion to this problem I have been dealing with for so long. He prescribed me an acne wash (it kills bacteria on your skin, and bacteria is what causes odor) to wash with twice daily and then a gel that is also for acne and is antibacterial as well to put on after I wash and let it dry. After that I am to use Arix Extra Dry spray deodorant and let it dry as well (before putting on a shirt). This is not a quick fix though, it takes a month or more for you to notice a considerable difference but let me tell you, it is so worth it! The thing that is crummy about Bromhydrosis (also, I forgot to mention that if you google it, it usually comes up as foot related but do not let that deter you) is that there is no cure for it, you can only treat it. I have just worked the extra things I have to do into my daily regimin and now it is just routine. I hope that this helps you! It really seemed to free up my life when I was able to stop worrying about it I smell bad. I know it seems like it wouldn't but not worrying about it has really done a lot for my mental health :) Good luck! I definately recommend seeing a dermatologist (someone that is innovative) and asking them about Bromhydrosis.
Also, please do not be too embarrassed to talk to a dermatologist about it...that is their job and they are used to seeing patients with all sorts of things going on. You are not alone in this, there are so many more people out there that suffer from this and are self concious about too.

A person's body odor depends on their genes. Scientist just discovered a gene that is correlated to ones body odor output. I've lived out in the country in Manchester, TN for many years, worked hard, and never had any body odor. I take a shower around once a week and never wear deodorant. My family doesn't waste money on that kind of nonsense. Ladies in school would always talk about how Mason Kehoe (me, 931-409-3122) always smells so good. It's obvious that I don't have the body odor gene. I was blessed by my parents with great looks, common sense, and smarts. I feel bad for those that smell bad & realize it's not fair I can go without a shower for 2 weeks and no one can notice. Washing clothes always seemed like a waste of time. Why wash something that's going to get dirty immediately after. By your clothes at thrift shops and go on with life. Your welcome that someone with my knowledge will take the time to help you out. Good luck, Mason Russel Kehoe. Call if you'd like to learn mor

Have you tried to control your diet?
Make sure you drink nothing but water and do not eat anything that is spiced or contains garlic or onions... you'll be amazed how much what you eat influences how badly you smell.
Also, try exfoliating and apply an anti-bacterial under your armpits and on your groin area.
It is the bacteria that live in the sweat that cause the smell to intensify.
Lastly - are you sure you smell that bad? Have friends ever told you that you smell? I'm just making sure that you actually smell bad and not that it is something that you have just become paranoid and obsessive about.

I know you find it embarrasing, but trust me, you'll only get help if you see your doctor. They've seen it all before and can get you the help you need. The smell is caused by bacteria in your sweat creating an odour when it hits the open air. There are special roll on deodorants you can use but these sting quite bad. Apparently botox injections into the sweat glands have been shown to help, and in extreme cases, the sweat glands can be cut and tied. Buddy, go see your doctor. Then you can get on with the rest of your life x

Shave/wax under yoor arms, use a sports specialised deodorant, shower in the morning and at night, use talcum powder because it absorbs sweat, wear loose closing and yoo can also buy body refreshing wipes which is like having a shower and then re-apply deodorant. Its really unfortunate that yoo have this problem but hope my advice helps =]

Go to a health food store and get your self a cleanse and detox supplement, stay away from garlic, eat parsley. If that does not help then you must find a doc that you can trust, patient confidentiality is what doctors do along with help you solve your problem. Good Luck.

I heard that eating more than one portion of carbs causes bad bo. If you eat carbs for breakfast, don't eat them again for lunch or dinner, ie, bread, pasta, cereals. Also too much sugar and chocolate causes bo. Try and eat more fresh fruit and veg, drink lots of water and work out more to clean out the system. Try going for a colonic irrigation to clean out old food in the intestines. Hope this helps.

Doctors deal with this sort of thing all the time, there's no reason at all to be embarrassed. It seems that you've tried everything that you can do yourself and realistically the only way you're going to get it sorted is to get some medical advice.

Doctors have seen everything so do not be embarassed. You said this has hurt you mentally, why not take a chance in going and seeing a professional? You can chose to get embarrased for one day or for the rest of your life.
