I heard on the radio a really neat trick to remove the imprints in the carpet from heavy furniture. Take a cube of ice and rub it on the spot. It will soften up the carpet and allow it to reshape back to its original form. I would also recommend vacuuming after wards, only because a wet spot in the carpet is also susceptible to stains from dirt.

I love your old man. I love the dialogue. Very powerful stuff. Perhaps your old man went off to train some kid to do karate by painting fences and stuff (or maybe a young Luke Skywalker). A lot of real wisdom embedded here. So much I don't dare comment on the way you've drawn this together. A thoroughly enjoyable read. I've read others like this today. It's been a good day. Thank you.

Rub your carpet with an ice cube and it will lift the carpet back up. The pile of the carpet stick to the ice cube and genltle lift them back into place.

Place ice cubes along the pushed-down part, just covering it (don't pile them up) and allow to melt completely. Take toothbrush & lightly brush area. Carpet is supposed to come right back up.

I remember reading somewhere to put an ice cube in the depression and let it melt. After it somewhat dries, but is still damp, run the vacuum cleaner on it. Don't know if it will work for sure but couldn't hurt.

ice cubes work well...you can also use heavy spray starch; saturate, brush hard then suck up with clean vaccuum nozzle...the carpets stays whatever way you leave it to dry. this works really great on all carpets but especially does well for older rugs. good luck!

lay ice cubes there and the carpet will come back up when the ice melts. I don't understand why this works but it does.

Vacuuming helps a bit also. I'd do that and then try the ice cube trick mentioned earlier.

use a wet clothe place it over the indent and use a steam iron on it that should do it , use a stiff brush in between doing it,to raise the knap, gently on delicate rugs Hope this works for you T
