Start with vinegar and a razor blade. Protect your car finish from the vinegar.......saturate rags and if you can keep the cloth on the glass for some time (windscreen would be easy, side windows...not) let the vinegar work. Then start scraping. Yeah, you can try a scrubby sponge, but friends say go straight to the razor blade. I know some use LimeAway but they are very, very careful with the stuff as it will mess up your car's finish!! Once you get it off, use RainX or other products to put a film over the glass to retard this problem in the future. Retard, not eliminate. Obviously your sprinklers need to be adjusted/moved away from the windows as this is an ongoing problem. (BTW, some have found the deposits beyond removal and replaced the glass!)

I hate hard water, and I hate hard water stains even more!

I used a cleaner I ordered from this website:

    http://www.shaklee.net/naturalproducts

Worked like a charm! It also removed the urine sprays from my Cats on my windows, and stereo speakers. This cleaner you mix with water, it's oderless as far as I can tell, and I have a great sense of smell.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

Household rubbing alcohol and a clean lint-free white towel works on bathroom mirrors and keeps them from fogging up when you take a hot shower. I've tried this on faucets with hard water stains and it works great. Very cost effective!

Good ol' "Lime Away" works for us, on all kinds of stuff, including hard water stains on glass shower doors and the like. You can purchase it at any Walmart. No need to scrub the area after squirting it on, just rinse.

Vinegar and distilled water. Be careful with this method on vehicle glass because they might have some sort of finish on them that could get scratched.
