Which way around the sun do the planets move?
and does the solar system move the same direction around the milky way and does the milky way move the same way around the galaxy.
exactly as there is no up or down or north or south there can be no clockwise or anticlockwise so how do we describe this direction.
It is a loaded question and there is no answer. They just revolve in one direction but we cannot describe this direction.

You cannot describe any motion without a reference to something. So let's go way up above the north pole of the earth and look back at the orbits. From that direction, all the major objects in the solar system are revolving counter-clockwise. (Venus does, too. It's *rotation* on its axis is what these people are referring to as being reversed.)
Now the direction the solar system is going around the galaxy becomes more complicated. The "plane" of the solar system is tilted to the plane of the galaxy by about 60 degrees. This ruins any chance of thinking about it in clockwise or counterclockwise terms, relative to the solar system. But we do know what direction the solar system is moving as it orbits the center of the galaxy. It is moving close to the direction of the bright northern star, Vega. That's called the solar apex. All the stars we can see are moving in roughly that same direction.
There is no other identifiable revolution we are on. The Milky Way is our galaxy, not some other thing. We are moving in a combination of three directions: the earth's rotation, the earth's orbit around the sun, and the solar system's orbit around the center of the Milky Way galaxy.

counter clockwise
"assuming we take a stance as NORTH is UP"
Standing at the north pole , the sun will move from east to west.
All of the planets and most other objects also orbit with the Sun's rotation in a counter-clockwise direction as viewed from a point above the Sun's north pole. There are exceptions, such as Halley's Comet.
Thus our Solar system will revolve around the galactic core in the same way

Looking down from above the plane- the imaginary horizontal line most of the planets 'sit' on- the planets move around the sun counter-clockwise, as does everything else in the galaxies.

that is a loaded question....to answer it though the planets revolve around the sun in the same direction...in space though there isnt up down east west left right or north south. It just revolves.

the way the earth moves around the sun is that the earth is going in a straight line. But the sun's large mass and gravitational pull warpes the space around it ( like taking a iron ball and putting it on a t-shirt stretched over a box) The earth is trying to follow a straight line as it can in warped space around the sun (a boat on the ocean is travelling in a straight line but it comes in contact with a whirlpool a is pulled in a circle around it)

everything is clockwise...
... something to think about.. what is up and what is down? i mean you can look at it from the bottom and see it anti clockwise.. and above its clockwise.. but what is up and down.. and who is to say its on a horizontal plane? it could be at a degree on a 3d model. possiblilties are endless

all of the planets move in clockwise motion, relative to Earth, but Venus moves in anti-clockwise motion due to an asteroid striking it millions of years ago.

It all depends which way up you are. Out in space there is no up or down, you should define your datum
