Oprah's new religion?
Anyone out there hear about or participating in Oprah's "new religion" classes...I'm a Christian & have nothing to do with it but wanting to hear about what others are making of this ridiculous stuff. A friend of mine has been forwarding me the "teachings" and wow are they stupid.

Oh My God!!! You people are UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!! Oprah is Christian, she believes in God, she prays to God and asks for his guidance. Her on-line class is concerning the book "A New Earth." That book isn't about religion per se, but about spirituality, about getting to the heart of each of the great religions, before doctrine was set down by the men policing the religions. It's about getting closer to God by not getting so wrapped up in the world around us that we let the world rule us.

It's not a new religion. It's just a book (A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle) that teaches you to not to be so ego orientated. It doesn't matter what religion you are, it talks about all religions in the book. My mom bought me the book but, its not interesting to me. I'm not a religious person, but I'm open minded so I'll give it a shot.

Actually, Oprah is a long standing member of a church that has been around since the mid-1800's. You won't catch her using the name of the church that much since we don't believe in evangelizing. Oprah has worked with online classes with many spiritual books out there. She has worked with "The Secret", "The Law of Attraction", "Discover the Power Within You", and is currently working with "The Course in Miracles". All are beautiful books. Since she is a licensed teacher within the church, she is authorized to teach classes with any of these books.

i'm not an oprah fan though i occasionally catch part of a show. i haven't heard anything about this. what's her new religion?

I don't know, but she looks good for a more mature lady.
On the other hand, she pushed the Secret, so she's apparently anti-christ.

Are you talking about this new book " The Secret " she's been promoting? because that's not really a religion if that' what you mean... or something else?

Can you give some information or references or something? I'd like to check it out, (but not join). It sounds silly, Christianity is the only way to go.
