Ring worm?
My daughter has a ringworm spot (ring) on her shoulder. I noticed it and am treating it with an anti-fungal cream.
The next day at school, before I could notify the school, I was told that a student - my daughter's best friend - has ringworm and I need to watch because it is very contagious.
My question is, do I need to do anything else? Does the anti-fungal cream kill it? Or will it just move?
Thanks

Good 'ole ring worms. I got those as a child. Oatmeal baths and calamine lotion to dry it out seemed to be the trick. You can also use and anti-fungal treatment like you already are. There's a chance she could get them else where, especially if she scratches it or comes in contact with it again from another kid. No big deal though. It's kinda like poison ivy, oak, sumac... Every kid gets it lol. Keep doing what you are doing and she should be fine! Good luck!

The antifungal cream will kill it in the location that you apply the cream to. However, that doesn't mean she can't get it on other areas. She just needs to be careful. Don't touch the area and then touch other areas of her body. Wash her hands well. And it would be a good idea to wear clothing that keep the area covered so as not to spread it to other people.

Ringworm is a fungal infection that can result from being in various different situations such as contacting an animal that is infected with ringworm. If you have a pet at home, take it to the vet and have them run a fecal interpretation, let them know to pay special attention for ringworm.

It's contagious, which means contact can spread it. Wash your hands a lot and wear long sleeves to help reduce contact. It can spread from her scratching or rubbing it or from her to another person. Keep using the lotion and put it on any itchy or red spot that her or anyone in the family may have.

Yes the anti-fungal cream should take care of it. It can take up to a week or more. Make sure you/she washes there hands after applying the cream and make sure to wash the towels so it doesn't spread.
If the cream doesn't work you might want to go get something stronger from your doctor.
