Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.....?

We are going to DisneyWorld but are not quite sure how to arrange our days there....I guess my question is can we do Animal Kingdom in 1 day......and can we do Hollywood Studios in 1 day??? We will have a 7 & 5 year old that will be tagging along so keep that in mind.

both are doable in one day Hollywood Studios would take less.

I'm 19 and went on my first Disney trip two months ago. I absolutely loved Hollywood Studios but was less than thrilled with Animal Kingdom. If you can, I would start the day at AK, ride Everest, go on the safari ride, maybe visit a few attractions, and then hop over to Hollywood Studios. There were many more attractions at HS than at AK. Neither of them take a full day to check out, so I would definitely suggest park hopping, if you are able to. If not, skip Animal Kingdom.

I generally plan for one day at each of these parks when we go at a relatively slow time in February. This is in part because we prefer Epcot and the Magic Kingdom over these parks for various reasons, so we budget more time for those. My 3 year old could spend half a day just in the Winnie the Pooh playground in the Magic Kingdom.

Keep in mind that the Animal Kingdom is the newest park, so it is smaller and has less attractions then the other three.

Still, both parks you mention are "must see"s!

Here are a few things that factor into the decision:

    - The time of year you are going will make a big difference in how much you can see at each park in one day, because of crowds. March/spring break, for example, is a very busy time.

    - Interests of family members: a movie buff might feel like one day is not enough at Hollywood Studios, and a 7 year old who loves animals might feel like they could spend several days at Animal Kingdom.

    - Endurance: can you arrive at the parks upon opening? Can you keep touring all day with kids? A good strategy if you are staying nearby is to arrive first thing, take a break at the busiest time of day (around lunch) and come back later when it is less crowded and cooler.

Some good news is that there is detailed expert advice on this topic, a "Step-by-Step Guide to Planning a Disney World Vacation", at: http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwstartplan.html

You will also find there many tips on getting discounts on anytyhing from tickets hotel to rental cars to food.

I always find the planning to be very fun; it also builds up anticipation when the kids get in on the planning discussions! Have fun.

I agree that both are doable in one day - but I think Animal Kingdom will take less time. If you are not planning on riding Everest, you can be out of there soon after lunchtime, or right after the parade if you want to see that.

My little kids liked MGM better than the Animal Kingdom and we always wind up going there for at least a day and a half.

Good luck - check out the planning spreadsheet to help you organize your trip.

You can do both in one day. Some say that Animal Kingdom is more about conservation rather than the rides.

I suggest you do Animal Kingdom in the morning (4hrs) and then Hollywood (it gets very hot there /not much shade) . Then go to hotel and rest if needed.

Then do Hollywood studios - find parade times on disneyworld.com.

    Have Fun!

animal kingdom is only open until 7. (some days they're only open until 5 so be sure to check). you can very much do each of those parks in one day. be sure to watch the fantasmic show at closing at hollywood studios. plan to get there about an hour before it starts. it's in an outdoor theater, so grab some snacks for the kids and relax until the show starts. it's worth the wait!

(5 years ago) My family, with a 13 yr old, 10 yr old, and 5 yr old did 1 day Magic Kingdom, 1 day Epcot, 1 day Animal Kingdom, and 1 day MGM studios. I think we covered pretty much every thing and I didn't feel like we missed anything big.

Since Hollywood studios will take less than a day to cover get to see the things you wanna do then leave out anything you don't want to do.You don't want to rush yourself. It's vacation have fun.Once you got done with Hollywood studios I would head over to Animial Kingdom. There I would pick out what you really want to do because there is alot there. We didn't even get through it a we had hopper passes we went two or three times but we had a three year old.P.S. ride the safari ride and do the bugs life thing they were my favorite.Good luck!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!

yes you can do it in 1 day. there are a lot of shows for little kids at Hollywood studios like the Muppet's or big blue bear. when you go to animal kingdom i recommend you go see a bugs life and the safari and bone dig the possibilities are endless but in my opinion you can never see a hole park in one day hope you have fun!!!! =)

Yes you would be able to but then if you returned a while later there would be more to see. Dont beleive you ever see everything.

I love the animal kingdom as they have a safari there and you see live animals and its awesome. I am sure your little guys will also love it there.

Hollywood studios was also good. But more large rides.

    Have a great time.

When I went we were able to do each in one day you just may not be able to hit everything but most 7 and 5 year olds probaly wouldn't want to go on the bigger rides anyway
