Guild Wars video problem?

My video card and system in general far surpass the requirements to play GW.However,in certain areas, especially Old Ascalon, the graphics get all screwed up,and parts of my character and my team, and the environment are just blanked out.Not blacked out. Which settings should I mess around with to get rid of this most annoying problem?? Thank you to all who respond.

If you mean that they show up as just big white cubes....that happens to me too sometimes....there was an issue downloading, so it may not be your system, but your connection.

If your graphics card is a much newer one, then maybe the game has not caught up to it....try and lower some of your settings, turn anti-liasing off, etc.

There is also a command you can use to have entire background download...I have forgotten the details, but you may be able to find on the guildwars wiki.

    Have fun!

Do you have an AMD Athlon X2 processor? If so then you'll need to Ctrl-Alt-Delete after you run Guild Wars, right click on Gw.exe and choose 'set affinity'. Then untick CPU 0 (leave CPU 1 ticked). Unfortunately you have to do this every time you run the game.

If that isn't your problem, then I'd suggest doing a full download as the previous answerer suggested. The command is -image (you modify your Guild Wars shortcut to "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image). This should probably be done overnight (or before you go out in the morning) as there can be a LOT of data to download.
