Cyclic Redundancy Error while moving photos?

I am trying to move some photos from my main hard drive to an external hard drive, but I keep getting a CRE on 98% of them. When I try to move the photos to another drive, with more space, within my computer it also won't let me do it. I cannot burn photos right now since my CD RW drive is broken. What are my options, if any?

    quick solution,put them on a flash disk,u can get quite big ones fairly cheap,i got a4gig one for 16 quid from aria
