  • How do I remove set in sunscreen stains?

I have these horrid orange marks on two of my shirts from spray sunscreen. I used biokleen (organic) detergent and vinegar when I washed them. I haven't put them in the dryer in hopes the stain will not set in. Is there anything that can take these stains out? One shirt is a white and blue batik pattern and the other is a mud-dyed t-shirt, so I need something that will not affect the colors, presuming I can get the stains out.

  • International Baccalaureate certification or Masters in Education?

I am currently teaching basic technology and pre-engineering (STEM) courses as an adjunct in the US. I work with high school students, but I am employed by a technical college. I have a BA in liberal arts and two associate degrees, one in arts and one in general technology. I am working on a 250 hour TESOL course and should by certified by January. I have two years of experience teaching STEM courses and six years of experience teaching EFL in China and South Korea.

Here is my question: I would like to get back into teaching overseas, but I would like to work in international schools or private schools that would be likely to pay a higher salary than the local government schools pay, so should I go for an IB certification first or would it be better to get my masters in education? For the masters, I am considering either "integrating technology in the classroom (K-12)" or "math and science (K-8). I do not have a teacher's license. It has not been required for any of the teaching positions I have held.

Also, can you teach IB courses if you do not have a teacher's license?

  • What is the best pre-paid cell phone service on the market at this time?

I don't need anything fancy, but it does need to pick up in rural areas. It also needs to be fairly inexpensive to keep up with.

  • Looking for a laptop that will last a few years?

I want something that won't be obselete just 3-4 years down the road. I'm also looking for one that will last that long without crashing. My price range is up to $1,200 US. I want something reasonably lightweight with decent battery life, at least 2G RAM, WWAN, good graphics and media capability, 120G+ storage (200+ preferred), 3+USB ports, CD/DVD RW drive, Bluetooth capable, Wi-fi capable, built-in webcam, and Vista home (at least).

What would you recommend and why?

  • In the run-up to the Olympics people have been talking a lot about China's pollution problems,?

so why is it that the central government, who publicly encourage environmentalists like those talked about in these two reports, does not do anything to help the environmentalists when they are threatened, deprived of employment, or suddenly found to have allegedly done something illegal and thrown in jail in trials that don't fit in with even China's definition a legal trial? Take a look at these articles. Can anyone explain this to me?

I have lived in China and I know it is corrupt. I just wonder why the central government refuses to protect those who actually work for the betterment of Chinese citizens rather than those who are simply party members.

  • I have several problems with my laptop?

My CD/DVD drive is not working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but I can't get the drive to work to use the driver CD to restore it. Then I tried moving some photo files from my main hard drive to an external hard drive. I kept getting a core error(?). I also have a lot of trouble uploading pictures to the internet. When they'll load it's super slow. Most of the time they won't load and I have trouble just opening the photo to view it. Now when I tried plugging in my MP3 it will not let me access the library in my laptop. However, it seems to be charging just fine. I seem to be able to watch videos on the internet just fine, so that's not affected and pages load reasonably fast. What do you think my problem is?

  • Cyclic Redundancy Error while moving photos?

I am trying to move some photos from my main hard drive to an external hard drive, but I keep getting a CRE on 98% of them. When I try to move the photos to another drive, with more space, within my computer it also won't let me do it. I cannot burn photos right now since my CD RW drive is broken. What are my options, if any?

  • I'm wondering how much power (electricty) and coal used to produce that power China would conserve?

if they didn't keep their doors and windows open all day long in the winter? I'm told the reason to open the windows is for fresh air. But the air in many places in China is far from fresh. Some days I can see it in the hallways of my school. Between November and February I think my city had about 10 days where we could see "blue" sky. I say "blue" because when I climb the mountains near my home I can still see the haze settled over the city. Many businesses, schools, and hospitals leave the doors open all day, yet they are running heaters within these buildings. Those heaters are usually in addition to the government controlled radiant heat systems, that don't work that great, built into most buildings. On top of that, many people still wear their winter coats inside. My students stay in theirs all day. So as most buildings are cold enough as it is in the winter, wouldn't it be better to keep the windows and doors closed, and buy a few plants to freshen the air?

  • Challenge: Looking for a short, low maintenance hairstyle?

I have a very round face, like a Cabbage Patch doll. Right now my hair is all one-length, past my shoulders. I want to get a short, low maintenance hairstyle. I don't use hairsprays, gels, waxes, or other products on my hair. I usually let it air dry unless it's a special occasion, then I will use a hair dryer. I need something simple. I don't want bangs and I don't want to need a curling iron or flat iron, nor do I want a lot of layers. They take forever to grow out and cause my hair to tangle a lot. I also refuse to perm. I need pictures of potential cuts because I live in China, but don't speak Chinese well enough to tell my stylist I want a different style than my normal, straight hair. Nothing from wikipedia, please, it won't make it past the great firewall of China. Thanks!

  • Serious heel pain and language barrier with doctors?

I have had pain in my right heel for over a year. Lately it has become excruciating. I do have a lesion where one of the outside ligaments attaches to the bone in my right ankle. Doctor says surgery would fix it, but I can't afford that. (It would require returning to the USA.) I was given a pain blocking shot for that Wednesday. X-rays show no evidence of bone spurs. I occassionally hear a snapping, not a popping, sound when I walk and it feels like something is snapping in the back of my heel. I've always had jobs that require me to be on my feet all day. I also use public tranportation so I walk a lot. In 2002 I severely sprained my ankle, but could not afford to be out of work and many times worked 12 hour shifts in my walking cast. I resprained it three more times within the following year. I go dancing and bowling a lot. After bowling yesterday I cannot walk on my heel. I have a high pain threshhold so I rarely rest even when it hurts badly, but now it is horrible.
