    There are a few projects described here that you might try.

    I liked the one about showing that freezing a glass jar of water illustrated how erosion was caused by the action of water freezing and expanding.

    Volcano..mix baking soda and vinegar together.....and it bubbles up. You will probably need to make a cone of something (clay possibly) around the base to make it look more volcano like. But the volcano is quick and easy and you probably have that stuff in your house.

    cornstarch test

    mix 3 large box of cornstarch with equal parts of water in a bowl. when you try to hold it, its like jello and when you squeeze it between your fingers it solidifies, but then when you open your hand it just comes down like liquid again. you can actually "punch it" in the bowl and your hand won't go thru it, because in that split second it becomes a solid again. Try it, even just for fun. I love that one. Good luck with your project.

    When i was in fifth grade we had to come up with ideas for packaging shipping material in order for a fragile material not to break. Our teacher tested our ideas with an egg.
