Why does America not have free medical care like other advanced countries?

Many other (maybe all advanced ) countries have medical care for ALL their citizens, and they do this for half the cost we Americans are paying, yet Americans live a shorter life. Of course, to institute such a program, price controls must be made. We the people would love such a program. We would be healthier, more prosperous, and live longer. Of course, doctors and others would be less wealthy, but they would still be wealthy, but we the people, would be so much better off. I believe this would be in keeping with the highest principals of a democracy. In addition, with healthier people, Americans would be more competitive in the world.

Because Politicians, pharmecudical companies, and HMOs would lose billions and billiions of dollars if that would happen, and even though it would be so much better for all people living in america, especially those on the lower end of the economic spectrum, Well those in power Will not stand to lose their precious bank accounts.

Universal healthcare was proposed in the 1940s and strongly supported by the unions such as the auto workers and teamsters.

In that time, unions typically scene as being pro-socialism and during the whole McCarthy/Red Scare Era, they were seen very negatively. Anything they supported could be spun into support for communism and being labeled a commie was akin to a death sentence.

The US also has had a traditional reluctance into interfering into private business, but you'd never know that looking at the USA in 2008. This reluctance was much more prevalent in the 1940s than the 1980s. Then came lobbyists and special interests and we have a system that costs us more than socialized medicine.

experience extra helpful? the two the left and the staggering frequently have situation differentiating the legal and the moral. each and every American "ought" to have first rate well being care. in spite of the shown fact that it won't manage to be a top, because of the fact somebody else has to grant it. in simple terms as your top to swing your fist ends the place my nostril starts, your top to well being care stops formerly it gets to the place I could supply it to you. unfastened speech is unfastened because of the fact you could in simple terms communicate, without anybody having to grant you something. i in my view think of there is little the marketplace can do to "restoration" our issues of our well being-care transport "equipment," which isn't a equipment in any respect, and we could constantly, as a count of compassion, have prevalent coverage for well being care, yet formerly we gain this, we could have a debate over what's adequate, and we could be prepared to be unfair, permitting people who can get extra desirable than the uncomplicated equipment to realize this, because of the fact to do in any different case could stifle innovation. so some distance, we've been unwilling even to pass into into the right communication.

Our taxes are half or more compared to "advanced countries." It's about choices people make and personal responsibility.

Actually we have a life expectancy a bit longer than most. Plus socialized health care isn't all it is cracked up to be.
