Why McCain???
Why would anyone vote for someone nearing life expectancy.... who many times cheated on his wife and kids then dumped them for someone of age to be his child..... then used her bank to buy him into office....... Who took part in the late 80's Savings & Loan "Keating 5" scandal..... now sings song about bombing countries like it was some joke....This is your vote??? This guy (& his home wrecker wife) are low class & gross. Often he looks clinically insane, nearing the point of slap a name tag on the wrist and a Depend on his butt so their are no accidents and he does not get lost. At lease Ronald has Nancy, this 'lady' only knows hair die and botox... oh yeah and stealing meds from charities.....
proof?? many articles on all just search...

The answer to your question is he's the lesser of 3 evils.
In response to some of your links:
1. Most of what you cite is OLD. I don't really care that much what McCain did 34 years ago, to say nothing of how a POW camp might have affected your judgment or mine.
2. None of your links are from prominent well known news sources, and some are just outright blogs who don't have to fact check anything.
3. One of your criticisms is specific to his wife, not McCain himself.
Your attitude implies a Presidential candidate must be perfect with no flaws or mistakes in their past. If that's what you're waiting on, you'll be waiting an awfully long time.
Even if everything you cited was true, I still say McCain is a better choice for our country than Obama or Hillary.
McCain, of course, is really a Democrat, in the old traditional sense of the word. Obama and Clinton are really Socialists, a movement which has risen up in the Democratic party in the past 80 years, but never as prominently as it has this election.
Here's why I don't like Hillary or Obama:
Hillary is basically a Socialist. She describes herself as a "new progressive". If you study history, you'll see the term originated around the time of FDR, who described himself that way. Many of his (at that time) radical ideas of changing government and growing government actually came from his assistant William Bullitt visiting Russia and meeting with Stalin. Many of the concepts of "The New Deal" came right out of the Socialist handbook. So yes, she is pretty much a self-proclaimed Socialist. (link #5)
Want to go through another Great Depression? Vote for Hillary, as her ideas will deliver that to you.
To be specific about why I don't like Obama and don't want him as my President (and these are facts that I link to; not just conjecture or opinion):
1. He wants to give driver's licenses to illegal aliens (link #1)
2. He has attended a church for 20 years which all but bars Whites and other races from attending (link #2)
3. That same church pledges its allegiance to Africa and not the US.
4. He frequently refuses to put his hand over his heart when our national anthem is played (link #3)
5. His church just gave one of its annual awards to Louis Farrakhan for his "truth, education, and leadership." (link #4). If Obama truly disagreed with that decision and disagrees with Farrakhan (who of course supports him for President), Obama should have left the church. I certainly would have.
6. Obama's Houston campaign office proudly flies a Communist Cuban flag with a picture of Commie Mass Murderer Che Guevara on the wall. I know college kids think the image of Che is cool, but Obama is old enough and educated enough to know better. Under Fidel Castro's Socialist regime, Che murdered anyone who did not support the new government. That Obama would support him is criminal. (link#5)
Then there's his voting record too:
Voted for giving illegal aliens Social Security (May 2006)
Voted against banning partial birth abortion (Oct 2007)
All you Libs - he's also on record as being against Gay Marriage, and he voted YES on reauthorizing the PATRIOT Act. (Mar 2006)

I also disagree with my friend "2bee" who answered also. A vote for McCain is a not a vote to support Bush's policies or an indication of support for Bush. I certainly didn't vote for Bush either time, and have never approved of the majority of his actions.
Check the poll ratings my friend. Bush's support is at an all-time low. Depending on your source, his approval rating nationwide is anywhere from 29-36%. You think that represents all Republicans in our country? I'm afraid not. Plus, McCain and Bush have never liked one another, and that's been evidenced time and time again. McCain will go to great lengths, once elected, to distance himself from the stench, so to speak, and that's probably the biggest reason he won't pick Condoleezza Rice as his VP.

Obama. McCain is a man with no plan, other than to maintain the status quo and give the wealthy another tax-cut! And Palin as VP? 70% of America thinks she is not qualified! And don't give me the Bachelor degree 5 college mayor of a town of 7,000 who has NEVER seen Russia, or she would know that the actual thing you can see is an Island is better qualified than Obama. Those that live on the Island that can see it do not have running water or sanitary facilities to use! Some governor! She can't even get the endorsement of her own newspaper!

The man willingly put his life on the line for this country and had to pay for it by spending 5 1/2 years in a prison camp. So he's older and you're an ageism bigot. He's an American hero, something the democratic canidates can't say and comes from a long list of Naval hero pedigree. He has been in office since the eighties unlike the demo canidates and what, Obama didn;t do anything weird with Larry Sinclair? How about challenging the integrity of Hillary for not leaving the cheater Bill? Hillary and her involvment in whitewater and Obama with Rezko. Politicians get involved with scandals, that's why their politicians. You try to ignore it.

If Hillary doesn't win, it will have to be McCain. Or is she is wins but is forced by the party to choose Obama as running mate. Mississippi vote proves that is all a setup with Obama.
Obama? No way. Good that this has all finally come to the forefront and we all should know what we are really dealing with in the future. Just about enough about the guilt and sins of our fathers. Enough is enough.

Rep's would vote for McCain because he is just like Bush. As a matter of fact the White House staff is working for McCain now. My source was Cspan. A vote for McCain is a vote for Bush policy's.

They should be voting for Ron Paul to make a statement and strengthen the leverage for conservative values in the GOP platform at convention.

There are NO good alternatives.
It's sad, but by the time anyone gets to that level in politics, they are no longer fit for the job.
