why are people so prejudice against Christians?

everybody thinks that Christians are just these bad people before they even get to know them. they assume they know everything about christianity even though they don't practice it themselves. just because somebody isn't the same as everybody else doesn't mean they aren't worth listening to.

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

John 15:20 20Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

IT is biblical that Christians are to be persecuted BUT,

Jeremiah 17:18 Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

That is truly the pot calling the kettle black. I have found that many Christians are self righteous and think they are better than non Christians even Christians of other denominations. And just so you know I am prejudice against people that try to shove their beliefs and myths down my throat.

I think what people don't like about some christians is the judging of others.

Mud sticks does it not? The church are fast becoming exposed for what they really are:

read 1Timothy iv-xii Enoch said much the same too.

There is nothing wrong with modern Christians, its just that if you go back decade after decade the behaviour of the church is intolerable and must to come to an end.

For those who have ears listen?

Go read a history book. Go look at what they're doing today. You already know why. They've tortured and murdered their way through history, forcibly converted pagans, and most recently are trying to get their religion legislated into gvt, push their religion into schools, and legally stop lifesaving scientific research and gay marriage.

You ask why? Are you living in the world with us? You already know the answer.

Btw, thumbs downing me only proves that you're in denial.

There are many wonderful Christians here.

There is also an abundance of the ignorant fundies here who spread hate and bigotry using the bible as their justification.

Ignorant fundies think that not only are they superior to all other humans but they have appointed themselves to be God and qualified to cast His judgment.

Hallie, we are not persecuting Christians, it is Christians who are persecuting everyone else.

Only Christians actively recruit. Some versions make it a requirement. People don't like having it crammed down their throats. Do you like having someone on your doorstep trying to convert you?

i hope you didn't include me as one of those people. i simply do not care about your religion. if you want it, go for it.

and on a further note, some Christians can be just as prejudice to others (think homosexuals)

Many people who are non-Christian used to be Christian, so it is foolish to assume that these people assume to know everything about Christianity.

I will be more tolerant of Christianity when Christianity becomes more tolerant of me - how's that?
