MP3 player ?
What's a good MP3 player to get which is similar to an i-pod shuffle but not as expensive?
(I put my i-pod shuffle in the washing machine, I left it in my shorts pocket! I got the i-pod free for opening an e-trade account so I don't want to spend alot to replace it.)

For something cheap and of good quality, look at the Sandisk Sansa Clip players. They have a screen which the Shuffle does not, but are almost as small, play music, fm radio, have a voice recorder, and come in a few different colors. It comes in 1, 2, and 4 GB models for between $40 and $80 depending on the capacity. I have seen the 1GB model for less than $40 on sale from time to time. They sound really good too, and it has a built in clip which is removable.

I have a COBY MP-200 mp3 player... Cost me $19.99, holds 512MB, but comes in up to 4GB, uses USB 2.0, and has pretty good sound quality.
It does not support AAC files, but unless you buy from Apple, that is a common problem. And it's not as small as the current iPod shuffle, About the size of the older version. But for the price, you can't beat it

Man go with the iPod. The shuffle is now only 60 bucks. The nanos go from 150-200, and thats not bad for a great product with a screen. The nanos now do video too.

I don't know of anything that can compete with the iPod. Well the Zune does, but it is pretty much the iPod.
