What would be a good topic to write a 1000+ word American Culture research paper about?

Question

Ex) Food, body image, politics, foreign affairs, domnestic affairs, education, medicine, civil rights, racism, role of women, role of men, the media, taxes, democracy, capitalism, the eviroment...etc.

I don't know what topic to write about. We can choose whatever we want. The last few topics I've written about weren't very good.. and I was wondering if I could get some input.

Anything interesting or important I can write a good paper on?

We have to incorporate narration, description, definition, compare and contrast, compare and contrast, argument, and persuasion.

You can write about the many different kinds of cultural groups in America. Focus more on the people and their customs. For example, sub-cultures of the New England area of the country, African-American culture like music and traditions, Hispanic-American culture in the Southwestern part of the United States, Native American cultures such as Zuni and Navajo, or maybe other cultures like Urban/Street Culture, Hollywood, Club Culture, Afro-Creoles of Louisina, Chicanos (Mexican-Americans), Country/Southern cultures, or history on immigration to the USA which formed out country.

hi, just a thought.... the USA has opened its heart to the fast food industry and therefore has also endorsed public eating..... does this have an effect on obesity? could be viewed from the angle that "eat it up" "i paid for it i'll eat it" have the suppliers given us larger portions to tempt us to enter their "resteraunt". If society is n ot being affected then what else can we blame for obesity? its the old nature nuture arguement but it could be worth a try there will be no shortage of material available.... good luck stu-boy
