I LOVE my Rav4!!!!!! It gets GREAT gas mileage and is FUN to drive! I have had it for 2 years now. GET ONE! They are great!

Okay lets get something straight Diesels are not 40% more efficient than gas plus it will cost you more for the fuel so no diesel is a bad choice. Second either of the two are a good choice. I prefer the Rav 4 because of the availability of the 6 cylinder and it just looks better. The honda is a nice car but cannot give the power you may need. If you want to go to a Hybrid you can choose from the Ford Escape or the Saturn. If you go a little larger and more Budget the Toyota Highlander is an excelent choice. Good luck and happy hunting.

Well considering you are single and have no kids, that should already tell you right on the spot that a SUV would be overkill for your needs. Also, with the rising gas prices you'd be paying far too much for gas every week. Your best bet would be to stick with a car and save your money.

Any particular reason you NEED a SUV?

If you must have a SUV try to get either a diesel powered one or a hybrid. I say diesel because diesel engines are 40% more effecient then gassers. If you only haul stuff occasionally it might be cheaper in several ways to simply buy a nice trailer and get a good car that would be better on gas and possabally cheaper on insurance. In some states trailers (unless commercial trailers) do not need any insurance.

Have you checked out the Hyundai Santa Fe? They are very nice and have great warranties on them also. They aren't bad on mpg either. Take a look, heck take it for a test drive at least and then compare it to the others you were looking at and tell me what you thought since I'm looking for an SUV also.

It's funny. Everyone complains about America going into a recession, while they are so quick to go out and buy a Honda or Toyota. Come on people, we are damaging ourselves here. Go out and buy a nice jeep wrangler, saturn vue, or ford escape, and you will be happy for years to come. : )

Saturn Vue- The best small SUV out there. It has an amazing interior.
