Am a fan of Stanley Clarke?

I loved "This Bass can Talk" and his tenure with Animal Logic.

Update:

If you think jazz sucks, why even come to my question and insult me and others who like certain jazz artists. Course I bet you haven't listened to Stanley Clarke to even know who I am talking about. Simply one of the greatest bass players today.

I am a fan of his Return to Forever days together with Chick, Al di Meola, Lenny White. I'm glad they're making a reunion concert. I also like his School Days album and his collaboration with George Duke.

Stanley Clarke's early solo outings were great, but he kinda got too funk-pop when he started collaborating with George Duke. Don't get me wrong - I love them both and they are phenominal musicians, but I did not like the material they did in the late 70s.

Stanley's first album (self-titled), Journey to Love and School Days are classic fusion albums with great bass and smokin' guitar (from Bill Connor, David Sancious and Jeff Beck). From there forward until recently, there wasn't a whole lot of his stuff that I listened to widely.

    I am a fan.

His third solo record still one of my favorites. Esp. the 2 part Song to John (Coltrane) - acoutic with Chick Corea, Mahavishnu John McLaughlin and Stanely.
