CHRISTIANS: Will you answer this question please?!?!?!?!?

hi...

This is just a question about the different branches of Christianity!

first of all Ive always wondered how there can be so many! and how, that many different faiths can come from just one book?

Also what form of christian are you? and do you believe that your religion is the only path to god? If you think it is, then why? I thought the basic rule was that following Jesus is the best way to get into heaven! But im sure that some Christians think following their beliefs is the only way to get to heaven!

Also could you tell me the difference between the different christian groups! for example, whats the difference beetween catholics ands protestants....

thanks for reading

good bye =0)

    people have diffrent opinions

i am baptist. nope. i follow jesus and as long as the other religon is following him i think it should be fine.

One of the first major differences between Catholicism and Protestantism is the issue of the sufficiency and authority of Scripture. Protestants believe that the Bible alone is the sole source of God’s special revelation to mankind, and as such it teaches us all that is necessary for our salvation from sin. Protestants view the Bible as the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured. This belief is commonly referred to as “Sola Scriptura” and is one of the “Five Solas” (sola being Latin for “alone”) that came out of the Protestant Reformation as summaries of some of the important differences between Catholics and Protestant.

i can always read a good question.

    Can I make this brief?

The Bible is true. Jehovah is God. Jesus is his only begotten son.

    The Devil is Jehovah's enemy.

Jesus said the Devil planted his seed, the weeds, in with the wheat, the Christians.

That is why there is so many denominations. Satan wants to confuse and mislead people. That is why Christendom is called..Babylon the Great...or Confusion the Great...(Kingdom of God is like a large tree,..and all the birds of heaven came under its shadow; Babylon the Great, a dwelling place of demons and every unclean and hated bird)

Each denomination teaches some truth, and some lies, so they cannot be totally true. There is hope however, as it is brought out that the chosen ones would finally be found without a spot or wrinkle, and the 144,000 chosen ones would not have falsehood on their lips.

So, all creation is waiting for the revealing of the true sons of God...because as we can see, so many claim to be them, but if they lie, they cannot be true.

The Bible says Satan is misleading the entire inhabited earth, meaning also by other false religions, Buddism..etc.

But take courage, Jesus has conquered the world...and he says..Trust him..and also trust God and do not be afraid.

As for the different truths and lies of denominations..I'm sure you will get some interesting answers.

1Cor.1:10 ..you should all speak in AGREEMENT and that there should NOT be DIVISIONS among you, but that you may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought.

Divisions are a work of the flesh, a creation of Satan, so that the brotherhood will not function properly.

the reason why we have so many different groups is because over the centuries, people have developed different ways to worship God. Some churches are very formal and they use the older hymns, whereas some churches are more modern because the members prefer that type of worship. i do not really have a denomination, but i know people from different groups and they are all sincere Christians. it doesn't matter how you worship God as long as what you do is sincere and pleasing to Him. and following Jesus is not the best way to get to heaven, it is the only way. God gave us the gift of eternal life, and all we have to do is take it by choosing to follow him and worship him as our God. some people do think its better to worship one way than another, but both can be right.

Catholics truly believe that when they take Communion that the bread and wine is the body of Jesus, but protestants believe it is only a symbol of the last supper. i don't know if my facts are entirely right, but they are pretty accurate, i think. hope this helps...

Well, you may call me a liar again, but.....

I do not believe for one second the different Denominations were God's idea. We Christians are very imperfect, so when we disagree we run off and start another Church.

I am a Church of God Minister, I believe Christianity is the only path to Heaven, but I know that my Denomination is only one of many very good Churches, we don't believe that you have to belong to our Denomination to be Saved.

The last part of your question would require too much time to answer. Some Denominations are so close that there is no difference, others are so far apart that there can never be any agreement. Catholicism is vastly different from Protestantism.

As a Christian we believe that Christianity is the only way to God not because of our own opinion. But through divine revelation from God Himself. We did not make the rule, but those who have come into a personal relationship with God have come to this knowledge through Him. The Lord Himself said that if any man followed His teaching, he would know if He were telling the truth or not. As for denominations, this is not a uncommon thing. This kind of thing has been happening in the body of Christ for thousands of years. When ever God started a pure and holy movement, the devil would come and attack it and try to pollute God's church with false doctrine. Hence you would have seperations and divisions amongs believers. You saw this in the Old Testament with Israel when they seperated themselves from Judah. However, God does not always address a situation right away, but He appoints a season to purify and cleanse His church. You saw this with Saul and David. Saul represented the regime which was polluted and corrupt. The Lord raised up David in his place. David then took the Old Testament believers back to the original teaching of God's law, which Saul had abandoned. This process has been going on for a few thousand years. And even though you see it America today. The same purging process will happen again. Read Matthew 13 about the parable of the weeds and the tares.

All Christians believe certain core things, which can be summarized in the Nicene Creed:

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from Heaven, by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with Scriptures; he ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of live, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

That's what we all agree on. But of course, in addition to this, different people have various tastes and opinions about things that are less important, and that's why we have different groups and different churches.

I personally am a Southern Baptist. We don't believe that our church is the only path to heaven, nor that any other church is the only path. We do believe that Christianity is the only path to heaven, though. . . whichever particular church one happens to choose.

I don't know the diffrence but God does not care about rituals or religions a religion is a belief God is a truth. Just accept Jesus and obey Gods commandment s and your okay some other branches make things to difficult. Most of the disagreements come from how some of Gods commandments are it's hard to deciper what he really said with so many translations. But I trust the Bible I have the holyspirit and I know whats sin because I can feel it just read your bible and obey it then you are good. Also goto church to learn about his word I'll see you in heaven. Love God with all your heart and love evryone like yourself. It's easy don't think to hard into it.

well there are different denominations because each thinks their OPINION of the scriptures is special, however, if they stick with torah as a guide- then we would have a lot less denominations and a lot more truth out there.

you must accept Yeshua (Jesus), but you must also be a commndment keeper. thats in rev and a few other places. if you love Me- keep My commandments. those who keep the commandments will inherit the kingdom.

study for yourself and hold each group you visit to high standards and scriptural integrity- if they dont pass the integrity test then move on.

i am a messianic jew. raised christian, and now i am back to judaism, but i accpet Yeshua as messiah. jews dont accpet me, and christians do a lot, but get scared because i talk about deep roots etc and i surpass many in knowledge. that doesnt make me great by any means, but those who are well studied are the kinds you should surround yourself with. you do not have to be a jew to go to messianic services by the way. its often 50/50 between jew and gentile.

    Christianity to me:

    getting Saved, Born-Again

(getting your spirit Recreated by having Jesus as your Saviour)

Getting your spirit ReCreated is REALITY. It is NOT a Religion---but a religion can be made out of it.

There are only Two Kinds of People in the Earth:

    1. Saved, Born-Again

    2. Lost (their spirit has not been Recreated by Jesus)

Probably, In All RELIGIONS (man made stuff)

their is probably some People who have had their Spirits Recreated (got Saved, Born-Again).

Even though these people are in a "Religion", their Spirit got Recreated when they Asked Jesus to Save them.

They are Children of GOD and will go to Heaven when they Leave the Earth for good, Even if they never Learn Who They Are, and are stuck in a man-made Building with a man-made Sign on the out side of it.

    See?

These are the Eagles running around with the Chickens who "Think they are Eagles"!!!

    ;)

    Nuff Said!!!

The only way to heaven is becoming born again. There are diffierent churches because of different types of personalities. I like a more peppy service, others don't. A certain religion does not get you to heaven, just Jesus.
