Give me three good reasons why I should have a Facebook account?
Today's newspaper tells me that 2/3 of all the Internet users in my country have a Facebook page.
Until now, I've gotten along perfectly well without one.
But now it looks like I'm in a minority.
So can someone give me three GOOD reasons why I should sign up?
TIA
V

1. It's gimmicky,
2. it's boring,
3. It's a useless waste of time. Not unlike most of Answers.
My friends and kids kept nagging me to be in it so I did, and it's just stupid.
Facebook is crap crap crap.

The reasons why I use facebook are
A. I have alot of friends that don't go to my school, so it is an easy quick way for me to be able to stay in touch with them
B. I have gained access to many pictures that I may have never seen
C. I am informed of events that my friends are planing or attending without having to be personally invited to everything
It is a little impersonal at times but it works for me

The question is more like 'Do you want to be more IT-social' , if you don't really read much blogs or news sites daily I don't see a reason you to register there. Go and check it out, it you don't see any topic that can excite you, go out - get a beer and talk with real friends.

1. Great way to get to know people you 'just met' in person and build a friendship from there.
2. Quick way to contact friends, and since its addictive, they will get your message quite fast and likely respond in such a manner as well (particularly if they have their facebook linked to their cell phone)
3. If you have ever met anyone who you wish you could get to know better but haven't seen them (or had the opportunity to do so) you may be able to find them on Facebook.

*1: Several people probably have already added you as a friend.
*2: it's good for showing off photo albums to other people you know.
*3: it can easily connect you to people who are in the same groups you are in (like at the same school, the same workplace etc).
*4: Free to use classified ads from people in your area and groups.
*5: much cleaner, more integrated feel than Myspace.
There's five.

Before it went all myspace and cluttered itself up with millions of kitsch add ons and worthless crap, I would be able to answer this. It's good for keeping in contact with people; like a directory of only people you know and have known. That's the only reason left.

these only aply if you're actually interested:
1) fun & easy way to connect w/ family, friends, classmates, and ppl in your area
2) wayyy safer than myspace w/ more customizable safety features (so you wont have weirdo pervs looking you up and stalking you)
3) because its a good thing to do when ur bored, fun in general, will help ppl find you in a way you would want, and b/c there is rele no reason why not to get ones if you rele do want one
:) hope i was helpful

Well I had to get one because way more of my friends had a facebook than myspace, but It is more confusing to use. There are just more people who have it.

It seems like a waste of time, especially if you have a job. Last thing you need is your boss accidentally discovering it and firing you due to the creative comments you made about your employment at that particular place.

1. To get to know people
2. To Be More Popular
