How long do you save your diaries & journals?

My sister used to burn hers, but now she has a journal with a lock, so I think she might feel safe enough to keep it.

Me, I like to keep mine. I know there will always be that nagging fear living inside you that someone may have read it or could read it, but, considering the amount of care and effort I put into hiding it, I don't think anyone can or will.

So to answer your question, I would like to keep them indefinitely, although I have thrown the ones from early childhood where I could barely write. The one I am presently writing in will definitely stay with me forever. I hate the idea of burning or destroying a journal; in many ways, it's like burning your own soul.

Well, I don't know about other people, but I keep mine as long as I can, because I just love going back and looking at them and seeing how I've changed. That's not to say I don't keep them locked up though, no matter how old they are.

I've never purposely thrown a journal away....I plan on keeping them forever, maybe someday my daughter will read them and she'll better understand some events that have happened in our lives!

I keep them forever (technically speaking, I WILL keep them forever). I'll always want to look back at my childhood feelings and thoughts and friends and everything. A walk down memory lane never hurts :)

I keep mine...I like to look back at what I wrote and laugh at myself. Or think that was stupid. Or no wonder why we didn't stay friends. LOL...Just a little fun for me...No one reads them however
