Why do all girls like girls?

Well I don't like girls, but in my teenage years I did have a little natural curiousity, I think everyone does when they are discovering their sexuality.

Whether or not they feel comfortable to act on these feelings is culturally determined and in our current Western culture it's seen as ok or normal for girls to try these things.

Girls are very affectionate with eachother anyway they hold hands, hug, cuddle, kiss on the cheek, sleep in a bed together etc. so kissing is just abit of fun as many teenage girls are curious to see 'what it feels like'. Also, girls are very attractive as they can wear make up and risky clothing. Whereas boys don't have the Desire to kiss other boys are they aren't 'attractive'

I think it's for three reasons:

1. Hormone overload- EVERYTHING turns you on at that age.

2. To turn on the guys- I believe that 90% of these "bi curious" girls are doing it because they think it will get them a guy. How ironic is that??

3. Over-sexualization of teens- look at what they see on TV and in the clothing stores? Teens are encouraged to become physically sexual beings before they are mentally ready for it.

Anyway, that's what I think....good question!

Edit: Some of these responders appear to be oblivious to what is going on with teenagers today. Watch MTV for an hour or check out myspace/facebook, you'll see what the teenagers are into...and sadly what behavior they're modeling.

Part of it could be due to peer pressure.

While in my 20's, I noticed many young women who wanted to be cool and the coolest thing at the time was to be gay or bi(how silly is that, to be so affected by peer pressure?).

I even felt the pressure myself, as all gay or bi people were seen as being really cool and straight people were seen as boring. It was just the "in thing" and maybe it still is nowadays.

Plus also, young women and girls sometimes buy into the fact that men like women with other women. But why do that just to impress a guy and be seen as more desirable? Just be yourself, whether you are straight, gay or bi. No need to be a pretender.

No, all girls are not turned on by other girls. Women touch, hold and kiss each as signs of affection because we are friends. It isn't necessarily sexual.

Some people experiment because they are interested and are unsure. That is probably a good thing.

I'm a girl. I don't like to kiss or touch girls, nor have I ever had the desire to. In fact, I don't even like to hang out with girls that much on account of most annoy me.

Females have a sexiness and a sensuality that guys just don't have. Some women really want it and need it woman-to-woman. Some women love the same things about women that a straight man loves about women. The emotional connection, the kissing and the sex between two females is just explosive and deep. The connection between two females is so hot and so amazing. There's nothing else like it.

By the way, not ALL females are into it. But the ones who are into it share something really hot as well as soul - touching.

...This is like asking why a woman would enjoy a 2 week vacation in Fiji or winning the lottery!

I suppose it is just out of curiosity or it looks 'cool'. Especially for teenagers or young adults. Older than that, I suppose that they are just plain IMMATURE.
