XM Radio in the car?
I recently installed an XM Radio receiver in my car it sounds great! It's plugged into the cigarette lighter like most XM Radio's are, however when I turn the car off the cigarette lighter remains on and so does the XM Radio. So everytime I get in or out my car I have to manual turn it on or off.
Is there any after market item I could purchase so I can hard wire the XM Radio power cable directly into the car?

Since most satellite radio units use a 5v power source, you can't just wire them straight into the vehicle's wiring. You can do it with something like this: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partn... Just wire the socket up to a switched accessory power source, then plug in the XM cigarette lighter adapter. You can get a socket like this by purchasing a cigarette lighter splitter or extension cable, and cutting off the end. Make sure you correctly identify which wire connects to the outer shield of the socket (ground) and which goes to the center contact (positive).
Otherwise, your XM Radio should have a built-in "auto-off" feature that will turn the unit off automatically after a set period of time. Check the owner's manual.
