Don't listen to anyone else! Except for me....just a few months ago I broke my finger. The pharmacist said it wasn't broken, my personal trainer said I wouldn't be able to train the way I do if it was broken. Others made the same assumption. Well two months later I had to cut my ring off because the swelling just wasn't going down...x-rays proved it was broken and I have been swollen, sore and favoring it now for four months. Your acl will take longer because you are torturing it....stay OFF of it they tell you to.

    P. S. My finger is crooked now but x-rays show a straight bone. When the swelling finally subsides, my finger will be straight.

I'm with your dad on this one...and I know it hurts but it will heal.
