Why did Obama lie about the extent of his ties to Tony Rezko?

because he is and always will be a liar! this was swept under the rug fast due to the wright deal.i only saw one other guy on here who brought that up.of coarse it was all thumbs down for telling the truth! i love how they say oh that was a different campaign.how blind people are.the question to him was how much in your political career has resko given you,not how much this election phase.

In conjunction with his ties to Tony Rezko do not discredit his ties to Wright's Organization and those who Wright endorses. Obama used this Organization for his political advancement in his state attempt and also for the Senate seat. Now he makes a stand only when main stream media forces him to. More will be disclosed..The voting American and main stream media are not through with him yet.

Very good question!!! I'm just waiting for the media and reporters to ask Obama this very same question! Especially after Obama has lied about not knowing or hearing his former pastor speaks such hate to saying he was aware of his stance. Hopefully this Rezko issue will be address.

And why did he say no one from his campaign had talked to anyone in Canada about NAFTA, when they had? He seems to not be able to organize and keep track of his own campaign.. how will he do with an entire nation?

He seems like a nice enough guy... would probably have a good conversation with him at the bar... but he's not the type of person I want running my nation if he can't keep track of something as (comparatively) small as his own campaign.

Because money assocaited with a particular contributor isn't always easy to determine. I don't think Obama "lied", and that certainly isn't determined by the report that you posted.

The campaign had to go back through fundraising efforts for years to find contributions not just made by Rezko but associated with Rezko.

Furthermore you do notice that the report here is Obama's campaign openly coming out and stating they have located further information. Instead of trying to hide this info or hoping no one would ever notice, they came out and communicated it to the public. This is the difference between Obama and Hillary that I see. Hillary is all about politics, meaning making sure the best possible light is shines through, where as Obama seems to be striaght forward and honest.

Well he wasn't completely open about his relationship with Tony, but then he wasn't completely open about his mentor either. I like the way he tried slipping this announcement in while the heat was on for Wright. Thinking it would go unnoticed in the wake of the bigger fiasco. Neither will go away come November.

I think he had to lie with hopes of not being exposed. He has lied about other things, too. I am sure that more and more lies will surface. My mother always told me that one lie always leads to another, so once you start, there is no stopping point.

He didn't lie. He was stating the amount of contributions Rezko raised in 2004. Now he is answering a different question -- the lifetime total amount that Rezko raised for him throughout the years.
