Defending Obama?

I dont believe Obama. He will say anything to get votes.

There is nothing said in public by any other well known person that is equal to the trash and hate of America and white people than was said by Wright. Nothing compares. Conspiracy, white people hate us, murders us, supplies drugs so we (blacks) can be tossed in prison, whitey is responsible for all injustices and mass extermination of non-whites, America invented AIDS for the purpose of genocide on American blacks, , ,

This has set race relations back a few decades and Obama agreed or at least accepted these statements. Claiming that these statements made behind a pulpit were not the consistent messages he delivered. How does that diminish what he did say????

Other blacks claim that this is not uncommon in black churches. I now understand why 'whitey' cannot do enough to reconcile with blacks.

Who would want to defend Obama and his racism, if he had told the truth , he should have been candidte with us but his judgementy has been impaired by Rev Wright

How can he heal America then you hear this vitrolic hatred from his Minister, He has no solutions he can't change the buracracy in Washington, why did he keep going to this church when you knew Rev Wright was a bigot?

3 days ago, he said... I never heard of these statements when I was sitting in a pew in the chuch.. NO. he also said, if he heard the statements he would have confronted him.

Today.. he said... Did I hear these statements in a church? YES........and he didn't confont him.

Then he compared Wright to his white grandmother and G Ferraro? Oh please .......

His speech was intellectually dishonest ..... nothing more or less.

I agree about the relative sophistication of his speech, and his appreciation of complexity. You will find much of that in "Dreams from My Father," which I recommend. I don't know whether other politicians are simple-minded by comparison, or whether they assume that Americans respond only to words of one syllable.
