Take her to a doctor or psychiatrist- not because anything is WRONG with her, but they can condition her out of it.

There is nothing wrong, it is just a comfort tool that didn't get outgrown. My daughter is in her thirties and she still sucks her tongue; she learned to live with it because, she says "It's not as embarrassing as sucking your thumb."

If you can't live with it I would suggest hypnotherapy.

Otherwise, I would leave it alone, sometimes it stops on its own.

My son does the same (21yrs old).

When he is awake he tries chewing gum.

When he is asleep there is nothing he can do ... but if anyone else has any ideas I am sure his girlfriend would be pleased to know there is a solution.
