You can't have divorce without marriage. I don't think it inevitable because the divorce rate is only about 50% (in the US). So every marriage has a 50/50 chance.

If it's inevitable, then my whole family is going against the trend. My Dad will be 80 this week, and he's still married to my Mom. Three of their four children have been married more than 30 years (the fourth never married). You can stay married, and happily, if you put as much effort into it as you do many other things in your life.

I have often wondered about it myself, why do they both need to be in the same category? I think they should separate them.

they should be separated. its like pouting birth and death together, or dating and family.
