I was off my vitamins for a few weeks, and I just got back on them. I'm taking a menopausal blend (New Phase) and an extra B12. Is it possible that these vitamins make me feel physically hungrier? It seems like, a short while after eating, I'm aware of an empty, almost queasy feeling in my stomach.

Mine is "It just happened." Tornadoes and hurricanes just happen. But when you choose bad behavior which results in something negative, such as:

You deliberately continue contact with a woman you know you're sexually attracted to; and you end up in an affair.

You drive to a bar, have too much to drink, and don't make any arrangements to get home safely; and you get picked up for DUI.

You have unprotected sex outside of marriage; and you end up pregnant and alone.

THESE THINGS DID NOT JUST HAPPEN! Your behavior caused them. I just wish people would take responsibility for their own behavior and think!

Other than the obvious stupidity, like vulgarity, I find the surest way is to mention God or express a conservative opinion about things like living together without marriage.

with a straight answer?? They're getting more and more frequent in my book. Of course, they say truth is stranger than fiction . . .

So, a nice young man shows up at my door at the dinner hour, standing in the cold wind. He's asking me to buy a coupon card to support Special Olympics. He tells me that "several local businesses" are sponsoring this by offering discounts. When I looked at the card, they were all national chains. He was wearing a typewritten "Special Olympics" card on his lapel.

But, I'm thinking, "I don't know who this kid is. And, more importantly, I don't know who is really handling this fundraising attempt. My guess is that a fundraising firm has hired him to do this for a cut. so, after his cut, and the fundraising firm's cut, I figure about 25% of my donation will go to Special Olympics. So I tell him no. Now I'm feeling guilty.

So, I guess my only recourse is to mail a donation directly to Special Olympics, which will insure they get it all. Will you join me? What charity will you send your check to?

We got hit by lightning and blew out a bunch of things. Since Directtv covered the cost of those replacements (yes, this is a plug - they deserve it), our total cost for replacing everything will be about $500 over our $1,000 deductible. We're trying to determine if we're better off eating the cost.

We believe these cups were from Germany, they belonged to my Mother-in-Law's grandmother. They have a brown stripe around the top and different fruits painted on each. The signature on the bottom has a crest, the Letter "R", and "Czechoslovakia". Can anyone identify these for me?
