how do I get from the world trade center to the statue of liberty?
Taking my Father in law around NYC tomorrow. I'm taking the train from Newark tomorrow morning to the WTC stop. Then I'd like to hop on the Ferry to the Statute of Liberty. Need to know how to get from the train station to the ferry terminal
I am traveling by train from Newark to the WTC stop. I'm trying to figure out how to get from the WTC stop to the Ferry that takes me to the Statue of Liberty. Subway, Walking, Bus, etc. I don't care, just trying to get there. Taxi's not an option since i'll have 5 other people with me.
If I'm walking, what direction should I go, etc.?

These people are nuts! I live in the neighborhood, so this is top notch advice. Get a google map for the walk down to Battery Park. It is literally a 5 minute (10 tops) walk from the WTC Path train stop. In Battery Park, follow the water's edge (the Park is at the tip of NYC, so its on the water) and you can't miss the large ferry port where they take you to the Statue of Liberty.
DO NOT take a taxi unless your father is infirm. Its not worth the money, its a short ride, and its a nice walk. If you take Broadway down (I recommend this...in fact, I'll include directions below), you will pass by Wall Street as well, and can see the NY Stock Exchange Bldg. Obviously, a taxi can't take you to the Statue of Liberty because it is on an island.
DO NOT take a subway. It's just not needed for such a short ride, and will take longer than walking. It'll also be more confusing. The subway does not run to the Statue of Liberty either.
Once you get out of the WTC stop, cross the street (Church Street) and continue walking in that direction (i.e., East, away from the WTC Path station) for one short block to Broadway. Take a right on Broadway. You will pass Wall Street and the statue of the bull. When you see the bull statue, stay on the right side of the Y (the road forks) and about a block or two down is Battery Park. Follow the main path (cement walkway) where you will pass a giant globe-like structure that used to be in the middle of the WTC, but was moved after 9/11. Its pretty interesting, since the globe is so damaged. Keep walking on that path until you get to the water (1-2 mins) and you'll see the Statue of Liberty ferry terminal.
