Religious folk, what makes an extremely faithful and pious person of a different religion less right than you?
Many Christians on R&S have faith that they are "Born Again," and will received salvation through Jesus Christ.
Many Muslims (and there's a few on R&S) believe they will receive their salvation through Allah and the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed.
Many others around here are just as sure of their faith.
Many people of many faiths claim that their God has in some form or another "spoken" to them.
What makes your God or gods any more valid than anyone elses?

for myself, a would only marry a person who tried their best to follow the Qur'an AND sunna, not just the 5 pillars. There are no perfect muslims but there are those who at least try set a good standard for themselves. Some only do the easiest things and disregard the others, some go halfway and prefer to adopt cultural practices instead of some islamic practices, and some even deny much of Islam and it's teachings. It's not that we judge, but we are supposed to search for a pious spouse that will be a great example for ourselves and our children, and our muslim society as a whole. It's not really that hard to tell how dedicated a person is to their faith, once you ask a few questions and find out how they spend their time, see how they dress, how they interact with others, how they respect others, do they spend time at the masjid or do they prefer to hang out with buddies in bars..etc etc. Allah judges us all in the end as to how pious we are and that is when we truly are rewarded (if we deserve so), but until then we do have a right to try to be in the company of those we feel are a good example to help us in our path towards God and to not stray. peace

Because the agnostic God spoke to me in person.
He told me, with his mighty voice dripping in doubt:
"look buddy, I´m not exactly sure of what I believe in either. And about the creationof the universe? My only excuse is that I was really, REALLY drunk. Sorry ´bout that."
Jokes apart, the guy above me is the exact example of people who drives me mad: the question was not: what do you believe in"
It was: "what make you believe that your belief is stronger than that of anyone else"
Ok, god revealed himself through the bible. How can you demonstrate that he didn´t do it throug the q´uran, through the veda, through the sybillin books or through the Rede or, for what matters, through Terry Pratchett´s novel (that, if I may say, carry much more truth than any other book I´ve ever read).?
Have you ever read such books? Maybe they would make more sense than the bible.
Seriously, how I hate fundy attention whores

I am eclectic Christian with Native American and Pagan in the mix as well.
I believe that all faiths are paths to the same end and that all views of the Higher Power are simply different facets on the same jewel.
I do not believe that I am better than anyone else.

First off religion is getting outta bed in the morning, brushing your teeth.
What I BELIEVE in is that Jesus Christ is the one true God. I believe in his word and I try to live my life by his word. I believe that he died on the cross for my sins and that one day he will come to take me home to be with him.
This is my belief. Many people believe differently than I do. No I do not place myself above them. That would be judging and I wont do that...it is not my place to judge.
Will I tell them how I believe....Yes...I will tell others about Christ but I will not say you are wrong and I'm right. We are entitled to our own ways of thinking/believing....we are all striving for that special place......my special place is with Christ in heaven.
I know that I serve a God who is Love, trusting, powerful and mighty, and always there for me. I know he is real and one day everyone will see when he returns that he is the one true God......

God revealed Himself to us through His "Word".(Bible)
Anything (ideas, people) that don't line up with His Word are in fact in error. There is no other revelation of God in existence other than the Bible. God will judge us according to it's contents and instructions and Christians are to use it for guidance and to scale other people and ideas. If they don't line up, we don't incorporate them into the formula.
I admit that there are those out there that carry the banner of Christianity but are far from the truth. This is nothing more than the hand of Satan. He wants to just barely twist the truth enough to where people will just barely miss the mark that God has placed before us. They will give account one day!
No other religion, other than Christianity, can give a relationship with God that produces peace, joy, hope and eternal security for the "said" believer. The rest is mere idiology with no relationship. It's mental with no divine interaction.
God tells us to correct error, dispel evil, and fight to share the truth. This is the charge of the Christian.

What someone else believes is their beliefs and is probably right for them and that is why they chose the beliefs. I know my beliefs are right for me. Do I need to argue about whose God is better; for what it comes down to personal beliefs. I have mine they have theirs both are valid and more or most is dependent on the person being validated by their God(s) or lack there of

I am doing what I believe is right. [Christian - Assemblies of God]
There is only one God, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. What building you go to on your given worship day is not a factor.
I am no one else's judge. I don't go around saying I'm better or condemning people to hell. I do not have that authority.

What makes YOURS more right? We all have the right to believe whom we feel is leading HIS people to the Promised Land. My hopes are that the one more blessed and righteous and blessed is the one leading with proper guidance. My God does not allow me to hate anyone or to sin! What does your god teach you?

How pious or serious *I am* about religion has *nothing* to do with whether or not my religion is the right one. Literally, it has no bearing on it.
My religion is either right or it is wrong, and that is totally independent of whether I believe it or anyone else believes it.

First of all get religion out of the equation. If you study the Bible and live accordingly and receive Christ as your savour and ask forgiveness and believe by faith God will not in no matter cast you away.
