Does the term "Fundie nut job" offend, amuse or describe you?

Here is a quote from a Y!A past questions asking... What is a fundie? " The true definition of a fundamentalist is someone who believes the Bible is the infallible Word of God and that Christ is God in the flesh and that he was born of a virgin , died on a cross for the sins of man, and that he rose again from the dead and ascended to heaven and that the resurrection is a bodily one. Fundamentalist just really means you believe and follow the fundamental teachings of the Bible."

I believe in the Bible. I believe in Jesus of the Bible.

It rather amuses me when Christians are called a FNJ, as though we should be insulted and offended because we stand on what we believe in. So I guess you could say it amuses...but describes me. What about you?

Update:

Marty, all that shows is there are extremes in all things. Not all "fundies" are like that.

Update 2:

Hippie...maybe you should apply for work at Skippy or Jif?

Yes, I am a saved, born-again, Spirit-filled, Bible believing fundumentalist. Though some may consider me a bit crazy for believing this way...LOL!

    Yes!

Hours of entertainment seeing (various forms) of "Christ is God in the flesh and that he was born of a virgin , died on a cross for the sins of man, and that he rose again from the dead and ascended to heaven and that the resurrection is a bodily one."

I seldom have anyone say that around me, but when I do hear it I just think it's "strange". My lifestyle is pretty average, and my sexuality plays no bigger part in that lifestyle than any heterosexual persons does. Maybe I just happen to be a homosexual with a heterosexual lifestyle. @Alan Servant of Jesus: I take responsibility for my action and my life. What causes you the confusion, and causes you to paint the picture that other people are not being responsible is your perception that homosexuality is "wrong". You are correct, I choose to sleep with someone, or to have a loving relationship.....and I have every right to do so. It's not irresponsibility, it's living the life that the gods gave me to live. Your opinion on it is irrelevant.

No I am not offended in the least bit. I may be a fundie nut job but what are you?

I am amused by your question because I don't think that all Christians are Fundies but you just lumped everyone together by this definitin.

"Christian" was first used as a derogatory term directed at the followers of Jesus. If this keeps up, one day you may drive by a sign in front of a church buiding that says, "Welcome to First Fundie Church"!

Thanks for introducing me to a new acronym, FNJ. It certainly does describe many fundies. I guess that I should not be surprised that some FNJs like to be thought of as FNJs.

It amuses me. It's one of those rare cases where it describes the person in my mind PERFECTLY.
