Does springtime have any spiritual significance to you?

Just wondering if you're religious/spiritual beliefs incorporate it at all. Springtime is very special in the Shinto religion, which I have borrowed a large number of beliefs from. It's a time when people can grow especially close to nature, and revel in it's beauty. Many festivals take place in spring, and people enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms in Japan, and certain other areas of the world. Does anyone else's religion have anything similar to this?

Yes! I am a Baha'i and the first day of spring is the Baha'i New year (Naw Ruz). The 19 days before that we fast from sunrise to sunset. Its for me it respresents test (i like to eat :)) and the renewal I feel afterwards.

To me, as possibly other beliefs and religions, it means the coming of new beginnings and starting anew. To renew the positive energy and start fresh. To release all transgressions and bring forth new life (whether it be spiritual life or physical). For everyone to enjoy peace and harmony like nature does and has given us a chance to balance ourselves once again.

Springtime is kind of mud season around here but once it dries a bit it is kind of spiritual with all the new flowers and green, birds coming back from winter vacation, the baby animals.

To me personally it represents a time of fresh newness and rebirth. Winter going out, and the earth thawing out. New sunlight and energy coming in. The promise of new things to come.
