need opinions on a theme.....?
i am 16 weeks pregnant and am already wanting to get a head start on the nursery , im wanting to go with black, red, and white as color , and thought that dr.seuss would be a perfect theme , seeing as red and white are main colors in the books ,and dr.seuss was my favorite as a child and still is.
i am 100% set on doing this buuuuut my partner doesnt like the idea one bit , he wants pirates or world war airplanes.
I tried explaining to him that for one we dont know the sex yet and dr.seuss is a very unisex theme , the theme could also be used up till around age 8 or so .
Also i explained to him that dr.seuss is very educational and yet he dosnt want anything to do with it.
what do u think i should do?
the main color i going with is red , most the decorations would be black a white.
i was wanting to do the bed black and white.
im not exactly sure yet though , i still have to talk him into doing this.

I would see how much Dr Suess nursery stuff you can find. Then show him some pics and he may change his mind. Other than that, search online for a nursery theme you can both agree on and have a dedicated corner of the nursery for a Dr Suess library with a few stuffed toys, pics, etc.
Companykids (http://www.thecompanystore.com/defaultkids2.asp?co... ) and Pottery Barn both have unique nursery themes.
Good Luck!

I like the Dr Seuss idea a lot! Esp since you don't know if its a boy or a girl. You have to be careful with themes as they grow out of them pretty quickly it seems. I had our daughters room done in Tinkerbell and fairies in general and now having just turned 2 its all about Dora the Explorer. Fortunately the pink and yellow walls go with Dora too.

Go see that Horton movie.
Plus those bright color blocks you suggest are great for infants. Oh and you could frame book jackets or pages.
