The people who ask tend to buy the Canon, the people who don't have to ask buy the Nikon.

For only a tiny little bit more money, maybe you can look into the Nikon D80, which is a cut above the D60. The D60 has a couple of features that the D80 does not, but the D60 only has 3 auto-focus/metering zones and that could become very limiting if you progress in photography. The D80 has 11 zones. The D80 has two command dials also, while the other two cameras onlyt have one. This would be the deal breaker for me. Using two dials makes it much easier to use the camera.

It's not the camera, its the photographer and lighting. I wouldn't worry, the D300 is a fine camera. So are Canon's Your D300 will work for 99.9999% of the shots for a wedding. Since its DX sensor camera, you might consider getting a backup (like a D80 or D90) body as a backup that will fit your DX lens. People get all caught up in equipment, when in reality unless you are making billboard size prints, your D300's sensor is completely adequate for your needs. A "professional" camera is whatever you make money with and what makes your clients happy. You have to remember it is a business, and this is a tool. Why spend more money on a tool if it doesn't return you any more money in the end? Do your clients really care if you shoot with a D700 or D3? Or Canon 1D for that matter? They care about getting those moments and getting it right. Spend your money on lighting a couple lenses, and a backup body. Don't get caught up reviews or opinions. Shoot what works and what makes you money. Most "artists" starve.

Canon EOS Rebel XSi clearly the best entry to the best lens range for 35mm DSLR.

I think Canon is more fit to you.

Nikon's white balance - the colour part - can be little bit tricky to biginner.

Both are good camera but I recommend you Canon.

    Having a great photographic life!!!

Both are entry level DSLR cameras, and both will do a great job. However, I have to hand it to the XSi, having better features and what not. Great camera.

canon has been pioneering the digital camera industry for years. I would go with them so that as you start to own more lenses (if you go that route) you can just upgrade the body.

canon has consistently been the leader in innovations.
