Is it a bad idea to do easter a day early?

i have a 5 year old son, this year is gonna be his first easter egg hunt. Today is way beautiful and bright sunny out, and tomorow is predicted to rain. Do you think it will matter if i do easter today? or should i wait till tomorow and hope it doesnt rain and ruin his egg hunt?

I think it's fine to do the egg hunt a day early. Your son will probably never know the difference, since five year olds are not notorious fro checking their calendars. =) Quality time like that is good, and this way you can at least celebrate in spirit.

Depends on what your and his family does for Easter and the type of wedding you are planning. Try to make time for some wedding showers before the big date and thus allow people opportunities to get you presents. If you have a simple morning ceremony and afternoon reception, it won't really affect the Sunday morning activities of Easter. Also only do it at this time if you like the kinds of decorations people use at Easter. Those will be everywhere. Good luck on finding a decent place to honeymoon while millions of college students are on spring break.

It doesn't matter if you do it today or tomorrow really. But I think it would be better to do it tomorrow and if it rains hide the eggs inside the house. Even if the eggs are real and not plastic just make sure you remember where you put them as to not smell them when they go bad. Honestly, I think it's all up to you. But considering it's his first I would make it really special and have it on the right day.

  • today would be fine... I had already planned to do my daughters egg hunt the day before or day after if the weather was bad on easter... but the weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow for me so I don't have to now.. I don't see anything wrong w/it!

You could wait till tommorrow and if it does rain do the easter egg inside the house. That has happened previous easters ago at my church and we did it indoors. It is just as much fun. Good Luck and have fun!!

Easter day, is not a date in history.

It's a commemorative day set aside for the celebration of the Risen Christ, and the new beginning of life. Spring!

The symbolic renewal of plants and flowers from the dead....of winter.

Any day will suffice to mean the same thing and celebrate.

No it's not bad! Go ahead and do it now! If you're concerned about the religious aspect of it, just save the services for tomorrow and do the hunt today.

No not really - but you could always do an indoor one tomorrow - blues clues style, with clues on his toys. I do them all the time even though my two are much older! Make sure he knows the TRUE meaning of easter too!
