The Drake equation is a famous result in the speculative fields of exobiology and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI).

It doesn't prove intelligent life exists, it provides a way to estimate the uncertainty of the factors which determine the number of intelligent races in the universe.

This equation was devised by Dr. Frank Drake (now Professor Emeritus of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of California, Santa Cruz) in 1960, in an attempt to estimate the number of extraterrestrial civilizations in our galaxy with which we might come in contact.

No such equation exists. Absent observation, there is not neither can there be such proof. There is however an equation that purports to estimate the number of communicative civilizations in the Galaxy,. It is called the Drake equation.
